I don't know if it's been mentioned previously (I know that using a sponge on vehicles with Contrast has), but you can get nice even coverage on vehicles with Contrast by stippling with a flat-topped dry brush. You get some very gentle mottling in the finish (which actually looks rather nice), but no pooling or brush marks.

This may be of interest to non-airbrush users who are struggling to colour match their vehicles to infantry models painted with Contrast Paints, in any case it's a nice effect.

I have done a tank with a large flat brush, AP terrain brush I think, it's a lesson in patience to do it but in the end you still have to layer it to get a decent looking finish

Well, before now the only success I've had painting vehicles with Contrast was with Black Templar, because you basically cant go too dark with your layering.

The stippling was actually quite quick, admittedly on a Venom which isn't the biggest vehicle out there. I used a Artis Opus dry brush, which has a flat top so that you don't end up with the brush marks that you'd get from a side to side painting action.
