Will Imperial Fists and Astra Militarum make a good list?

It depends! Gonna need a little more than that though...what are you thinking of running (concept-wise)?

Well, IF and IG are kinda redundant, even though space marines lack the proper cheap vehicle support. If you are planning on doing a siege army, you could take the best of each faction. Cheap imperial armor and chaff and unmovable infantry shredding marines.

Well from what I heard Imperial Fists make use of a ignore cover if it's a Bolter rule, so I was planning on running a whole bunch of Infiltrators and eliminators along with Tor Garodon, then I could have vehicles and more cheap infantry come from IG.
Would this work, or is it a bad idea?
Thanks, Stromm

IF ignore cover with all ranged weapons, not just bolters.

I believe so. After mortars got nerfed Astra Militarum have less good anti-infantry non-LOS shooting. Get 15 Infiltrators for a full battalion and a Lieutenant for re-rolls to wound. A Thunderfire Cannon for slowing down the enemy and 1x3 Eliminators and 1x3 Suppressors because I've read from another thread you already have them and they're pretty good. Forget your ownership of a Commissar, they're not worth anything with their current rules. Run two battalions (one Emperor's Wrath Artillery Company and one Emperor's Fist Tank Company) with 3x10 Guardsmen in each, 2 Company Commanders in one and 1 in the other for order coverage, a Tank Commander with the Relic battlecannon in the Tank Company. A Basilisk in the Artillery Company. Give the Tank Commander or the Basilisk a Tank Ace and make one of the Company Commanders your WL and let him regenerate CP for you. Use leftover pts for additional Tank Commanders or Basilisks and you can include the Heavy Weapon Team you already own as well. Scale down the effectiveness of your army against opponents with weaker lists by adding Terminators with thunder hammers or Deathstrikes.
