I recently picked up some FW Phoenix Terminators that I want to use in my 40k Emperor's Children army. I don’t think I’ll have any issues with the halberds being power axes, but I need to add guns of some kind to them. I was initially thinking of using some Grey Knight wrist mounted bolters (probably converted into combi-plasmas, which has its own hurdles), but now that I have the pieces in hand I don’t know that this will work. The bolters are awfully chunky, and they would require a fair bit of surgery on the arms. Furthermore some of the termies are holding their weapons with both hands, which makes a simple hand swap a lot less reasonable.

Has anyone converted these termies for 40k before? What did you do for the guns? Here are the minis I’m talking about, for anyone unfamiliar: https://www.forgeworld.co.uk/en-US/Emperor-s-Children-Phoenix-Terminators-2018

Maybe swap out the arms for Grey Knight arms in their entirety?

Could go with a custodian axe to represent the bolter and axe combo - that's probably the best way to do it without modifying the base model a lot.

They're easy enough to convert. I did it myself to make a squad of regular Terminators using the power axe and combi-bolter weapon set.
