So we are like several centuries into the 42nd Millennium already, I have no seen anything on Yarrick. Last time I heard, he was hunting down Ghazkull following the 3rd War of Armageddon. He is the most famous Imperium character that is not a Space Marine. Granted, most non-Space Marine humans don't live that long. I am fine that he is dead; I just want a closure to his story as to how he dies, whether it is on his bed surrounded by family and comrades or on top of a mountain of dead Orks.

With the newest release, it looks like GW is pushing for a rivalry between Ghazkull x Ragnar but I am not seeing any closure to the Ghazkull x Yarrick rivalry. So happened to Yarrick in the end?

This little snippet is in saga of the beast and is broadcast from an imperial navy starship, I think Yarrick is still chasing his whale.

I can't see anything there.

I doubt Ragnar will replace Yarrick though. They just have a weird layout for PA.

GW had a new Space Wolf mini to sell. That's what happened to Yarrick...

I've said it before but 40k would be kind of dull if they only ever showed us the same two rivals fighting. that said I'd LOOOVE to see a new Yarrick mini. I bet they could make him look bad ass.

Who would you have yarrick fighting against? Let’s pretend in his pursuit of Ghaz and enemy got in the way that needed to be cleared

Yarrick is an important-enough and sufficiently talented hero that he likely got all the rejuvenat treatment needed- 2 centuries is easily doable with that tech. High-ranking Imperials seem to be able to happily reach 4 centuries or more if they tolerate the cybernetics and rejuvenat.

Luckily Yarrick got better from that time he 'died' on Cadia in the Apocalypse rulebook.

I thought the imperium had the technology to make people effectively immortal in terms of aging

It does- Cawl is a good example. Cawl is also a good example of the consequences- he isn't especially human anymore...

It seems humans of 4 or 5 centuries age are still pretty normal. It isn't especially clear how long "normal" rejuvenat works for, and when exotic cybernetics become the chief option.

The coolest thing would be to have Yarrick and Ghazkhull fighting together against 'nids or chaos. I can just imagine the two of them, side by side, blasting away at a common enemy and Thrakka shouting over the battle "I nevva knew how yer could do it, but i always knew yer had a bit o' ork in ya, One eye!"

Yarrick is torn between being infuriated at an insult, or touched by the highest praise his arch enemy could ever give him.

He will get the Macharius treatment.

Too old to keep on fighting, so he ends up getting killed off in some forgettable footnote.

I will not rest until the Tabletop Imperial Guard has been reduced to complete mediocrity. This is completely reflected in the lore.

With this it all makes sense.

His pattern of returning alive after being declared dead occurred often enough during Cain's career that the Munitorum made a special ruling that Ciaphas Cain is to never be considered dead, despite evidence to the contrary.

honestly the idea that the only character who can fight Ghaz is a bit of an odd mentality. Ghaz is a pretty big deal. taking him out would be big big big news, is it really a suprise that a chapter of perennial glory hounds like the space wolves had at least one captain YOLOing right at him?

Trazyn collected him.

His ship got stuck in a time warp in the warp.

The ork gods revitalized him because orks need good enemies to fight.

Da Emprah miraculously extended his life.

Someone stuck primaris geneseed in him.

No BLAM!

(Remember Yarrick is still a commissar, shooting his allies is part of his training.)

"Saga of the Beast" opens with a message from Yarrick warning the Imperium of the threat of Ghazkull. It is not clear when it is written though meaning he could be still alive or it could have been written as long ago as the end of the 2nd war for Armageddon.
