1 x Sentinel w/ Lascannon
1 x Sentinel w/ Autocannon

Hellhound

Heavy Support -- 125
Basilisk w/ indirect fire

Total -- 1495

I liked how the sentinels did last game (though I should have played them better). The hellhound was also a star performer -- even against marine armor.

I could move the chimera from the troops to the vets rather than infiltrate them if other strategem sound better at the time. I'm also tempted to take a sniper or two (light infantry) just to see how well they do in the city. (Plus, my sniper models look very cool, which is always worth a few points.)

I don't have a lot of experience facing varied opponents, so I wonder how you think it might do against certain armies. I might face orcs, necrons, blood angels, tyranids, among others.

Have at it....

Thanks in advance.

I've only played one game of CoD so far with my IG and I found myself in lots of short range firefights with rapid fire lasguns and being assaulted alot in cover. Thus, I'd advise keeping your guys cheap, so drop the lt inf & cameoline. If you want to infiltrate just take sewer rats, and the 4+ building cover saves are pretty good already. Combat engineers for your infantry squads is also good not only for the nerfing of wire and booby traps, but for the 5+ smoke bomb cover save in the open (free is always good) I like the 10 men with a plasmagun & no hvy weapons squads you have and thats how I will do 1/2 my squads next time -- run up, shoot & die in CC.

Clear the battlefield and let me see
All the profit from our victory.

keep the cloaks, with ur numbers and 3+ cover save guard own in cityfight, my only lost with my sms so far is vs guard in cod...with the cloaks. I mean yea we ran outta time in the torny. But I couldnt kill enough cause he had the dam 3+ and 4+ cover saves lol

I also got assaulted early (turn 2). I used light infantry and having that extra dice for difficult terrain seemed very worthwile. The quicker you can get into and through cover, the better. That extra dice helped every time I moved...

I agree about sticking with the cloaks. Huge boost to survivability, since most of game is in cover, for only 10 points.

I think the list has plenty of bodies for the size of the terrain (~80 + vehicles/sentinels). Dropping light infantry/cameoline would let me add two more squads, but I'm not sure that's such a good thing. All the regular missions use the table quarters (-12" from center) deployment, and terrain is all clumped in the middle. So, the first turn is sort of a dive forward into cover in a wedge shape. Too many guys and you're either in a massive clump, or you spend too long running toward cover (or action). I think I'd rather have the extra save and better odds of moving.

I also like to keep heavy weapons out of squads, and I'm considering removing them all and throwing in a sentinel with flamer. I like to be able to move. As you mentioned, rapid-fire range happens quickly, at which point I'd rather move and shoot than throw three heavy bolter dice. I worry about lack of anti-tank is all. At 1500 points I'm bound to encounter vehicles.

I don't know if CoD has changes to the main codices, but in IG codex if you buy special equipment such as carapace armor or camoeline you must buy for every man or squad. This rule is listed under special equipment, 3rd paragraph.

Word Bearers--5000 W1 L1 D0
Grey Knights--7000 W13 L9 D1
Thousand Sons---W8 L3 D0
Beasts of Chaos--4000

Now.. one thing i did notice is you are saying you are playing a friendly list but in all honesty using the honorifica doesn't exactly scream friendly to me. Nor does taking infiltrate and adding to your cover save in a cityfight list. Not complaining but call a spade a spade.

LOL... good point. I'll ditch the honorifica. I do find that a bit cheesy if I'm not already fielding a heroic senior officer. Plus, I like HSOs... their JO/HI cousins are posers who haven't really earned the right to be the most badass, in my mind.

Regarding the chameoline, though ... (You're right, RB, about having to give it to everyone, which I did...I ditched the basilisk).

I have no qualms about using it, even in a friendly game. The background on my army (which I inherited from my brother, who's been collecting for many years) has always been that they come from a planet that's been fully exploited, abused and polluted by outside sources for centuries. Their planet, called Akira (known locally as the Black Planet), is a massive urban wasteland (you should see some of the terrain my bro has built!), and my blue-skinned troops have grow up knowing how to move and hide in the filth and ruin that surrounds them. So, fluff-wise, it fits fine. They're just happy that someone is finally battling them in a ruined city, where they know how to fight the best.

I know it sounds like a justification, which all things must be in this game of a million rules, but I believe that it really is fair to use any doctrines, even in a friendly game. If people want to go that route and start claiming cheese, IG players should probably avoid Close Order Drill in CoD, since template weapons are so less effective now and it's so easy to hide in a building in a big pack.

Anyway, thanks for comments. Much appreciated.
