..several decades, to the era of Rogue Trader.

Does anyone remember if there was a particular reason for Techmarines to be wearing dark green armour with bright yellow right shoulder pad, the "hand" pad?

I only ask because I saw 2 old techmarines painted that way on ebay, and mine are painted the same way, and I don't remember why!

It is extremely unlikely to be a chapter thing or even a coincidence, so it must have been something I saw, probably in WD.

A techmarine back in the day would be painted in the normal colors of his chapter with the 'hand' in another color (red usually). I would suspect you are looking at some dark green custom chapter or 2nd ed+ Dark Angels and the owner just got his hands on some older mini's (RT Angels were black).

Most chapters had a yellow hand on chapter colors, with industrial detailing.

Yep, the red thing was a 2nd edition thing, not a Rogue Trader thing. Definitely saw a lot of old green ones on eBay, etc. They also just carried spanners and some visory bits.

Yes, those are the models, spanners, wrenches and tool boxes.

Maybe I had a go at painting them as Salamanders then, I really don't recall.
