Hey all

I'm trying to come up with a name and/or some artwork for a sign to hang over the door of a WFB Inn I'm going to be building. It's the last piece of "the puzzle" besides obtaining some decorative pieces to put here and there.

Been trawling through WFB stuff I can lay my hands on and Google for some ideas/inspiration. But I'm stumped. I've come across plenty of Inn names via Google, just nothing specific to Warhammer or would fit (imo) in Warhammer.

Best I can come up with is putting a Bugman's Brewery logo on the sign, but it's not a Dwarf Inn, it's "in the Empire". Or perhaps calling it the Inn of the Twin Tailed Comet and putting a twin tailed comet logo on the sign, but I think I've seen that name used to refer to something else, although I can't find that reference now.

Anyone here able and willing to help me out on this?

Strangely I've been listening to the audio book of Trollslayer. Doesn't mention the name Standing Stones Inn in part 1. Must be an abridged version I got from Audible. Also read some of the 'slayer series by William KIng back at the turn of the century...

I think I might go with The Orcs Head or something like it, it'll be nice and easy to stick an Orcs head on the end of the beam the sign will be suspended on, and just as easy to come up with/find some artwork for the sign itself (I'm no good at painting stuff freehand).

Maybe The Greasy Goblin.

EDIT: Having thought about this a bit more just now I'm wondering if The Wolf's Head Inn would be a good one to go with, and if 40k Space Wolves stuff, like the Wolf head helmets, or the heads on the backpacks, would look out of place on the Inn I'm building, in various places as decoration, like on the bottom of each corner of the top floor where it overhangs the lower levels...

Or would that look a bit too Norse?

Ulric is still the main god in alot of the Empire so Wolf themed decoration is not unusual.

Cool. Middenland, and the Knights of the White Wolf use wolves as their iconography also (keep forgetting about those), so yeah i guess it wouldn't look too Norse.

Just need to find some suitable iconography for the sign now then, shouldn't be too difficult, I'm sure there's something in old White Dwarf issues I can borrow.

Maybe even a Space Wolf banner, but perhaps that might actually look out of place.

EDIT: Looking just now I think calling it The White Wolf Inn and using GW's Banner of Ulric artwork on the sign might be something.

Interesting.

Think I just found a sign I can use without having to faff around with artwork, assuming it's big enough (don't want it looking too small) I could use the Imperial Knight Canis Rex banner that hangs between it's legs, comes with moulded chains to hang it also. The Canis Rex even has a shield I could stick somewhere on the Inn. And small wolf heads I could use as mentioned before.

Praise be Sigmar for bits sellers. Who'd have thunk 40k stuff would be useful for WFB...
