We know the Necrons eventually stormed the webway during the war in heaven. We’ve seen that Necrons could create pylons to “Ward” the material universe from the warp, and Pariahs to actively repel it. What happens if the Necrons bring a Pylon or Pariah into the webway and then activate it? Does it cut the webway off from the material universe? The warp? Both? Does the webway lose cohesion at that point, expelling the Necrons and a Eldar between layers of reality? Has this been covered in a Newcron codex somewhere?

What’s your take?

The Webway is like a tunnel of reality through the warp so technically I think it wouldn't do anything to the Webway.

If it came up in a story I imagine what would happen is you'd turn the page and find an editors note asking what the writer is on about and why something so stupid is in their book. Although they didn't do that with Dolmen gates at the start so maybe not....

I’ve read the 5th edition codices. The editors do not call out stupidity.

We've seen a pariah in the webway in the Hours Heresy novel Ordo Sinister when a Psi-titan is sent to hold a webway junction.

It has no detectable effect on the webway itself.

Odds are good one of three things occur:

1) that section of the webway gets dragged into realspace.
Which means:
1a) everything gets sucked into space and it ends badly for everyone not in a ship. Especially if anyone ends in the warp before the transition.
1b) its close enough to a planet that a giant tube sized between 'small vehicle' to 'battleship' collapses onto the planet, to varying amounts of devastation.

2) Rocks fall, everything dies. Webway collapses in that section

3) Nothing. The 'walls' of the webway are slightly more real and even less permeable than they were.

I'd bank on nothing, as the Necrons got rather desperate at various stages of the War in Heaven. Tossing a pylon in and giving it a try probably would have occurred.

Isn't there a few mentions by various characters(we'll use their points of view as references I guess) where elements of the warm are seeping in? So surely having a few pariahs or pylons would help stabalise the pre-existing pathways? I'd assume the oldones/elder wouldn't make an interdimensional pathway shoddy enough that one single spanker without a soul walking past wouldn't bring the whole thing down.

Then again, it'd be kind of interesting to see chaos or the imperium or someone similar creating a pariah bomb to collapse elements of the webway.
