I still play from time to time, albeit on PC, and I'm struggling to think how you could manage it in reasonable play. I just took a look at world record speedruns, and the shortest I could find was 40 minutes... and that's from speedrunners using their absolute best known paths, XP power-levelling techniques, specific builds and gear, and a glitch or two thrown in for good measure.
It leaves me to wonder, what is the actual criteria for "beat the game". Is it just reach and beat Diablo, so excluding Act 5? Do you have to start from Act 1?
Regardless, I'd think you'd definitely have to plan the run ahead of starting and consider what character to use and more importantly, what build. If you can twink yourself some gear to help with speed, even better (I'm thinking of set bonuses that reduce or eliminate cooldown on movement abilities like Monk's Dashing Charge, or Wizard's Teleport).
