That nixes any chance of CMON releasing their game in Europe. So CMON have the US rights and Archon the European. On the plus side these will be HIPS rather than PVC but I’m not touching a licensed game after AVP their own stuff fine but licenses nope.

Why does the price for the He-Man on Battlecat default to USD when it’s not available outside Europe? Note it is cheaper in USD than Zloty

I guess this answers the question about why Europe isn't going to be getting the upcoming CMON He-Man board game

It's also the first foray into licencing for Archon after their major problems with it as Prodos so I really hope they've learned lessons about how tricky and time consuming approvals can be (Edit: no it's not they've done but not delivered the Wolfenstein boardgame)

Shipping costs almost as much as the miniature, with only one option (I neither want to pay for or need this mini in 1-3 business days.)

How does the Europe only rule typically work? If you're in another region then they'll refuse to sell to you and you need to rely on the potential secondary market?

I've had a look and the Fedex option is the only one showing for me too which seems a bit odd as i'm sure there was a cheaper polish postal service option previously

I asked and they've said he fedex option is all the is now

Well, looks like Europe got the short stick with this one. Sorry all of you. I'm sure the 30% of backers that get their stuff will enjoy the minis.

Stuck in the snow.

So I know this is going to sound like a stupid question but this game is not related to CMON's right? I know that no one probably has the answer but there seems to be a lot of overlapping between both companies' announcements.

Both are called out as being "Masters of the Universe: The Board Game" (though probably with different sub-headers) and both are Kickstarter projects launching at around the same time (end of 2020 and 2021).

A lot of similarities can probably be explained away as standard elements for both companies doing a licensed product, but it is interesting that neither announcement seems to outright clash with the other.

(CMON announced the designers but gave only vague details about physical content, while Archon gave details about the contents but didn't mention anything about who will be developing the rules)

Right. Not related to CMON.

You could always shoot each company an email to clarify if you can get the game, since you're in Japan.

Shipping just works out to be more than I want to pay. I tried adding more stuff to make the shipping more economical, but that just made it worse; it seems to be $13 shipping per mini.

We'll, I'll keep my eye on the actual boardgame and see what happens.

I'm sorry if you got burned on AvP 10 years ago but I have no doubt every backer will get a crate full of awesome HIPS minis here.

Cool! How is the quality and sharpness of the details? It's difficult to tell from the pic despite the resolution due to the grey color. That's the EU only one from Archon, right?

Did anyone successfully order it in the US?

I don't have one but have seen several on facebook. It looks quite nice and has good detail.

Here's another pic with it next to some recent Mantic stuff. It's a bit on the small side if that's an issue. Also, at least in the FB group I'm in, the sword breaking off is a common thing. Not packaged well I guess.

Thanks for the pics. The detail looks good! I'm not particularly enthused about the pose/connection between battlecat and the base but understand they likely had to make some compromises to cast it in one piece.

Yuck. Let me know what Archon will do about this, as I'm following their customer service.

I have their resin Unicast (?) LOAD miniatures, which I bought online at a discount. While the detail even back then was great, the thinness of parts of the miniatures make me iffy with resin miniatures. I do have plenty of resin Tiny Furniture miniatures, but they're mostly furniture, with "thicker" parts.

I have a TON of the Prodos Mishima troops...talk about thin and breaky swords... I ended up replacing most of them with metal Zenit blades.

From the breakage on my sword, it looked like a bit of a mispack. Each figure comes in a small foam cutout to stop it rattling around in the box, but from where the sword was, it looked like the foam was in back to front so the sword got crushed.

A friend also got one and his sword was fine as it was in the foam correctly... so this feels like a hit/miss packing error. the casting detail is good, but there was some misalignment in one of the two, so the base is on a wonk. Not a massive deal as the rest of the model is really nicely done.

So looking at the website there are still more than 1000 of the 2000 sculpts left, is it fair to say that this is a bit of a niche product and a possible money loser?

Also is the miniature 57 mm tall (to the hilt of the sword , it looks like) as the picture suggests?

57 to the tallest part of the figure, which is the tip of the sword when it isn't bent... so anyone (myself included) that felt it was smaller than expected... clearly we didn't pay attention to the size listed

I would imagine there are quite a few left because a) I've not seen it advertised too much and b) shipping is quite a lot. I split shipping with a friend to bring it into a slightly more reasonable price bracket. for one figure, it ends up being pretty expensive.

Are the ram horns on Panthor a post-80's cartoon addition? I don't remember those on the original though IIRC battlecat had a cool helmet (not sure if Panthor as a repaint of the same toy got it originally).

Yeah, the original toy was just Battlecat covered in purple velvet, with the same saddle but no helmet. Not sure if it was ever shown in the '80s cartoon, but the more recent (2011-ish) MotU figure release had it.

Thanks. I'm ok with it as it distinguishes it further from battlecat's helmet but was just curious where it came from.
