Can you put a titanic vehicle in the same detachment as 3 Knights? Say something like 3x Paladin + a baneblade. If so, would you be able to give the knights a house ability and the baneblade a regiment ability? Per the wording of the rule about detachments all units in a detachment must have the same faction, which in this case would be "Imperium".

Just a stray thought but I'd be interested in the answer and why or why not it's possible.

Not in Matched Play/Eternal War missions, as you cannot use IMPERIUM to bind a detachment together. You can in Narrative Play.

You could do something like putting a Grey Knight Thunderhawk, a Blood Angels Mastodon and an Ultramarines Spartan Assault Tank in one super heavy detachment, bound by the Adeptus Astartes faction. That's about as mixed as it gets. They would count as an Adeptus Astartes detachment and get no bonus.

In particular, you need to take a closer look at the requirements for giving house abilities and regiment abilities. Pretty much all Codexes work this way - if you wanna mix your detachments, you don't get the special toys.
