Hey mates. With the recent leaked updates for Terminators being revealed and the fact that they are going up to 3 wounds and overall having either a very minor point increase or even a minor point decrease in some cases, safe to say they are much more appealing. In the case of Cataphractii Terminators, that also seems to be the case so in your opinion, do you think Cataphractii Terminators will be worth taking in 9th Edition?

Compare with current DG Terminators, they have 2W and a 5+ FNP which is equal to 3W on average. Will Cataphractii Terminators be the same price or below the current price of DG Terminators? How good are DG Terminators currently? SM get to stack doctrines, a super doctrine and a Chapter Tactic on top of that base DG Terminator, I think that sounds promising, for some chapters at least. Salamanders and UM Cataphractii will probably be worth somewhere around 40 pts/model including powerfist and storm bolter, BA or SW Cataphractii somewhere around 45 pts/model. I think you should expect at least a 4 pt increase given that Tacticals are going up 3 pts and they only have a 3+ Sv, so I think Cataphractii will be overpriced for Salamanders and UM, good but not amazing for BA and SW.

Give it a month or so to see how the new codex treats them to see if they are worth it, I expect their main selling point will be to teleport in onto an objective in need of some durable brawlers who don't need to move anywhere else.

Will be interesting to see if DW can take them in the new unified codex, and if not much else changes about them other than +1w and new points, the cataphractii captain might be one of the few ways to get a 3++ character.

Seeing as gw appears to be combining both Cataphractii and Tartaros terminators into a single data sheet (Relic Terminator Squad) we'll have to wait and see just what their rules are.

Oh yeah? Man, I'd love being able to field a mixed termie squad with both cataprachtii & tartaros suits in the same unit. You could really go to town trying to make each model look unique.

Yeah, it's great. I already do it, but mine just have to use standard Chaos Terminators rules. Because, you know, obviously the marines who actually fought in the Heresy wouldn't have Heresy pattern terminator armour....
