Hi folks!
I painted some miniatures back when I was a kid (mid 1980s).
My daughter wants to paint miniatures now. She's only five.
I went up into the attic and found the brushes I used to use for her.
I also found some of the paints, they have been up there since 1988 so I thought they'd be a waste of time...
but no! They are still liquid, as good as when I used to use them 31 years ago!
Painting a few miniatures with her has reminded me how much fun it is, I would like to get back into it.
The paints dragged down from the attic are old Citadel paints but from what I can find out on the internet they are no longer available and the current Citadel paints do not keep well on the shelf.
I am trying to find a decent range of paints by internet searching. Vallejo Game Colour and Scale75 both seem to get positive comments from painters and are very easily available to me. I wonder whether they would still be usable after 31 years+ like my Citadel ones though?
I would be grateful if someone would let me know whether Scale75 and Vallejo mix well, both with their own colours (I'd expect they should) and each other's (not so sure).

Right, now that I've said hello I'm off to browse the awesome work that people are sharing here!

Hi,

Welcome to Dakka

Welcome to dakka. I like Valley paints but I'm really liking the games workshop contrast paint range. I would recommend looking at them to get quick results that look pretty good.
