Hoping this means they branch out to using their IP beyond just SM for a lot of other games. I've always wanted an ODST style game where you play as a Tempestus Scion behind enemy lines, or a Shadow of Mordor type game where you conquer different Ork tribes and take over a planet to start a WAAAGH!

GW would be more than happy to take a licencing fee from anybody who wants to make one of those games

the trick will be finding somebody who wants to do it, not GW not letting them

Oculus quest 2 runs on an android operating system and costs $300. Sadly I will have to bow out on this one

Yeah.
40k game - check
Sisters game- check
VR game- Nope. No sale. Looks worse, more limitations than a traditional game, plus extra equipment.

Efficiency is the highest virtue.

It's nice to see this game. But I don't have the equipment for it, so we'll see.

"Our fantasy settings are grim and dark, but that is not a reflection of who we are or how we feel the real world should be. [...] We will continue to diversify the cast of characters we portray [...] so everyone can find representation and heroes they can relate to. 40k eroge game? Do we dare? Will it have the Inquisition setting with you as the center of the harem collecting your "Inqusitiorial warband"? Go Puritan and you'll have access to the Repentia, Missionary and Death Cult Assassin routes, or go Radical and be able to "date" Daemonhosts, exotic xenos waifus and other malfeasants.

Find out next time on "Inquisition Lover: Throne's Sexiest Agents"

Ohhh man this looks really good! I know it's trickier to judge from the outside, so to speak, but owning a headset as I do and having played Half Life Alyx, what we're seeing so far looks reasonably solid and fun.

Guess it will be basically a 40K variant of this game by the same studio? https://www.vrone.co.uk/vr-games/reviews/drop-dead-vr-game-review Nah, won't be getting an Oculus for this :|

They had me until the acronym VR and then promptly lost my interest. I might buy a game system to play if it wasnt VR but not gonna invest in a whole host of crap just to play this game.

Gimmie a FPS where I can purge the xenos, the heretic & the mutant and I'm cool. unreal engine would kick ass

I remember five nights at Freddy's help wanted vr got a flat screen mode a year later. So there is hope. But I question if I should even care. It looks like a phone port

Those graphics and animations, hahaha. I suppose it looks great for a game of 20 years old. The potential is clearly there, but this looks straight up terrible, even for a generic VR game.

The guns from first person view didn’t look/feel 40K. The bolter had a typical video game AK feel to it.

Cozy cockpit of an Imperial Knight

Audio is something very few studios get right.

It's by Pixel Toys, they've also done Freeblade in the past, which was a fun mobile game involving Imperial Knights.

Yikes, I know VR games aren't overly pretty, but this looks like me in 2010 struggling to play DoWII on my family's basic laptop.

It runs on the Oculus Quest, which has a (not even very new) phone processor, so it would.

I was wondering why visually it looks like an xbox 360/PS3 era game but then I saw it runs on the Oculus Quest which is the independent VR system that doesn't require a full PC/capable graphics card. It's basically running on a beefed up cellphone. Regardless, it looks cool and I hope it's fun!

This is announced at the same time Facebook reveals the new Oculus Quest 2, and is clearly trying to appeal to that mobile audience. That said, the Quest can be used as a rift headset( connected to a PC-graphic card setup ), so its possible this new game could have additional graphic benefits when used in that way.

The new Quest looks fabulous for $299, but it does require a facebook account which has been met with a mixed reception. The other VR companies are trying to cash-in on this but they have no product with which to steal customers away. Looking into the crystal ball, OSVR might be worth keeping an eye on...

Casual gaming, mostly solo-coop these days.

My favorite part is when out of some sense of "this will drive sales" they lose my money because "exclusive to device X"

When are these companies going to learn exclusivity KILLS sales?

It may reduce sales, but the extra revenue an exclusive deal can bring in may well more than make up for it,

and for smaller teams focusing on a single system means it gets finished before the money runs out as it should be faster

A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. If you're a small studio, having guaranteed money up front to actually keep the lights on, pay the employees, and actually finish the game prior to release is quite tempting and a sensible choice for some companies that don't have the rep/savings/credit to keep going for a future potentially (but certainly not guaranteed) larger payout.
