So, this might be a bit of a hairy topic, but here goes.
I've just started collecting Lumineth Realm Lords, coming from
40k and Blood Angels. As I'm sure everybody will appreciate, comparing any Lumineth Realm Lord mini to a Space Marine, there are a lot more opportunities for breakage. They didn't call them Pointy Aelves for nothing!
To reduce handling, and hopefully lessen the risk of breakage, I'm toying with the idea of using them with the movement trays that were made for Apocalypse.
Where it gets a bit iffy, is with the Shining Companies rule. Certain squads can get buffs if they deploy so that each model is in base to base contact.
So my thought is, using the movement trays in deployment to represent the Shining Company formation, then as they take casualties, or earlier, separating from the movement tray to break formation.
Obviously the downside is they aren't strictly in base contact, but they are in correct formation otherwise, and will speed up the game, and hopefully help prevent breakage.
Just wanted to get a few opinions on whether that would fly in game. Obviously it's a chat to the opponent first type thing, but I just wanted to see if the general consensus is a firm "no," to save spending $70 AUD on something I'd never use otherwise.
Thanks in advance
