The once tranquil world of SHASTA VII has found itself in the midst of a multipolar struggle for supremacy. It's startegic location on the western edge of the Galaxy came to the attention of the Imperium eons ago. Now, unfortunately for it's inhabitants it has come to the attention of Chaos and Xenos alike. What follows are the opening salvos of what promises to be a long struggle for the life of the Siskiyou System itself:

DeathGuard's "Blight Raiders" may be dominating the fight on Shasta VII. They've already accumulated Battle Honors on 2 units and have had 2 victories. Their first triumph was over two Legendary Necron's including Orikan the Diviner and a C'Tan Shard. After rolling up these ancients, they marched on to face the ”Shas'Ta Shí” Task Force of the younger Tau Empire. The Ethereal known only as "Upgrade" was able to retreat with his forces intact and without battle scars to fight another day - but still defeated.

The Aeldari have also emerged as a dominant force where a WraithLord's name, "Setra the Imperishable", still echoes in the ears of the bruised and possibly retreating contingent of the Thousand Sons.

Rumors abound in the fleeing civilian population that the Imperium of Terra and the Omnisiah of Mars may be sending additional reinforcements to extinguish the wildfire spread of Chaos and Xenos victories throughout the Siskiyou System and especially on the hive world of Shasta VII.

Looking good, will be interesting to see how this develops.

Also noteworthy that there are no Imperium armies involved in this fight. But hey, the 40K Universe isn't all about the Imperium, right?

The battlefields of Shasta VII are becoming littered with more bodies. After the bruising the "Druids of Tzeentch" received at the hands of the Aeldari of "Craftworld Ballard", Magnus demanded a overall review and re-organization of the Druid's order of battle. There were rumors of a relic in the flooded ruined jewel of ShastaVII, the city of New Venice. New Venice was once a vacation spot for couples traveling from all over the Siskiyou System to steal away on romantic getaways and enjoying the electro-gondalas and alcoves. These tight canals, nooks and crannies provide fantastic cover and the Planetary Imperial defense, sprang their trap; attempting to fight a guerilla war through the flooded ruins. The Druids of Tzeentch blinded from their movements by zeal of artifact recovery were taken off guard by the ferocity of close combat effectiveness of the 530th Shasta Mountain Division, having a Demon Prince fall to the hands of the Bullgryn under-caste in CQB and losing an entire squad of Tzangors to withering punisher gatling fire in the opening moments of the battle. Undeterred, the Druidic Terminators marched relentlessly toward the city center destroying all in their path and seemingly invincible. The terminators recovered the long lost "Hourglass of Manaat". Taking their prize they returned to their HQ leaving the guard decimated but undeterred in their defense of their homeland.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
On the far side of ShastaVII, another battle unfolded. Looking for Necronic archeotech, The Shas'Ta Shí Taskforce deployed within a now abandoned planetary defense. Not to be deprived a trophy from their ancestral foe, the Aeldari foresaw the young race's ambition and used the archeotech as bait to potentially destroy the impetuous Ethereal's main strikeforce. The battle quickly skewed towards the Aeldari favor with "Setera the Imperishable" again striding into the center of the fray to lay claim to the Necron Trophy. Despite drone support, an XV-107 burst tide was put out of action in the opening salvos of the Aeldari onslaught. The Burst tide was so badly battlescarred that it will need to be replaced. As morale of the Shas'Ta Shí withered, so did their lines. The Tau completely collapsed before the Aeldari even got fully into the fight with the Wraithguard Flamers deploying from Waveserpents devastating the unprepared Tau.

At the southern pole of Shasta VII lies a grand cathedral. So large and resplendent were it's oaken floors that neighboring systems would come to marvel at its craftsmanship. Too the cathedral was voluminous. The cathedral's spires grew so tall that supplemental oxygen was needed to ascend to their highest reaches. As the ancient cathedral grew in height and prestige, so did it's footprint expanding to include neighboring cities. Now cities lie wholly within the shrine with skyscrapers, once bathed in sunlight, now eerily dappled in rays from stained glass. The cathedrals position at the south pole was no accident. The Siskiyou Systems orbital axis is tilted at almost 90degrees allowing an almost unbroken ability to tight-wave communicate with the heart of the imperium. This tight wave would allow for the sending of a distress call for the beset system without the need for a warp choir. The 530th Mountain Division's mission was clear. Defend the tight wave station. Get the call out to terra, if not for themselves, for the yet to be born grandchildren. With luck, Terra will be able to send reinforcements while they fight a 100 year guerilla counterinsurgency. The Shas'Ta Shi task force recognizing this strategic location raced to the south pole to destroy the relay.

Deployed boldly the Ion-Side coruscated the earth around the Leman Russ leaving nothing but a pile of ash. Smart Missiles poured into the Scion Special Forces and Bullgryn from every direction. Bodies littered the oaken cathedral floor, but Andre's Giants along with a Culexus Assassin were able to close on a Burst-Tide, keeping the Tau away from the Relay and allow the Kommissar to send the vital distress call. The 530th won the day, but will they win the war?
