Hi guys,
right now I'm collecting a 2500 pts Emperor's Children army, that will be full collected and painted in 2021, with Fulgrim as an extra and final model once I feel confident enough. Thus raises the question of what I want next. I made my EC pretty clean and well, in order to represent either loyalist or early traitors on Istvaan III or V.
I would like something that plays differently and can be played against this force with a 50/50 chance of winning, roughly speaking.
Iron Hands do matches those demands: it is a shooting army, unlike the EC, and they were present on Istvaan V.
Now I would like to write down a list that would feel ok going against my EC list, not cost me thousands of euros, and look good.

This is my EC list:

Spoiler:

MARU SKARA

=== HQ===
Praetor in cataphractii armor, digital laser, master crafted paragon sword, command squad of 3 cataphractii terminator with power fist
Legion champion with spear, artificer armor and jump pack
Chaplain
All with shriekers

===ELITES===
Palatines Blades with jump pack, 6 spears, shriekers
Dreadnought talon contemptor woth kheres and close combat weapon, contemptor with two twin linked culverin

15 marines with vexila and additional CCW and one spear

===HEAVY SUPPORTS===
5 marines with volkite culverins
1 Land raider proteus with explorator augury web and lascannons
===DEDICATED TRANSPORTS===

This is my very first draft of the IH list:

Spoiler:

HEAD OF THE GORGON

=== HQ===
Iron father in cataphractii armor with familiar and master crafted thunder hammer
master of the signal

===ELITES===
Castellax maniple two castellax with darfire cannons
5 Gorgons with one graviton gun
10 medusan immortals

===TROOPS===
10 marines with bolters and a vexila
10 marines with bolters and a vexila
10 marines with bolters and a vexila
5 marines with graviton guns

===FAST ATTACKS===
1 sabre tank with blessed autosimulacra, multi melta, sabres missiles and anvilus autocannon

===HEAVY SUPPORTS===
Predator squadron two predator with blessed autosimulacra and heavy bolters and predator autocannons
Vindicator squadron two vindicators with blessed autosimulacra
1 spartan tank with blessed autosimulacra and flare shield

===DEDICATED TRANSPORTS===

Obviously, this is a first draft that is to get changes at one point or another. I tried to use some Heresy stuff like plasma predators, graviton guns, weird tanks. But, on paper, those two armies are kinda different and both actually get way to outflank one another, with one obviously more armored even if I didn't go all tanks as I could (should ?) have done.
So, go you think one list has a definite advantage over another one ?

You must be a pretty good player because my casual estimation is the IH list here will absolutely cream your EC every time

i want to offer advice on how to change the IH but i can only recommend changes to the EC out of these two lists
option 1: change the heavy weapon volkite to lascannons (the sun-killers anyone?)
option 2: swap out the LR for an anvillus drop pod and a deathstorm drop pod for full cannonical space marine tactics (deathstorm pods first and then pods of marines to secure the area before the blood spray has settled)

The Ordo Reductor - the guy's who make wonderful things like the Landraider Achillies, but can't use them in battle..
