So I was about 2 hours in on painting the gold trim on a Lord Discordant, with another 3-4 hours of work to go. Someone on another forum recommended I use a sharpie. He said it looks good and is very easy.

Well, I gave it a shot. And I gotta say, it was crazy fast and easy. It took about 50 minutes to finish, including redoing what I had already done to match the colors.

From here I’m going to treat it like a normal base coat with washes and highlights like normal (as well as cleaning up mistakes, which I would have had to do anyways), but I’m never going to base trim any other way again.

I hope this helps someone else who is struggling with the time it takes to do this sort of thing.

Depends on what kind of gold you want. I personally use Scale75 gold. Amazing coverage, great variety. Want to throw out other gold paints (GW and Vallejo)
