Nearly went with a more lewd title. So tempting...

Anyway, rather than post multiple photos of the same model I prefer to compile them into a single large photo. I often end up with three photos; left, center and right. I'm a little new at this and I'm not sure whether to position them in a row or a column. I'm curious if there is a preference or if either one looks any better than the other in the gallery.

Ask yourself: have you rated a gallery image today?

One aspect depends on how big you make the final composite photograph; how big it is will vary on how well it shows up on screens.

Then the question becomes are you showing people on their phones or their computers. Phones have vertical screens with a longer vertical length and computer screens have generally tended toward being wider over time.

Personally I find that, on computer screens, wider is often better than longer because you can view it all in one moment. Which should be the intention of a single composite photo. A vertical one and you're going to likely cap at 1000 pixels on the long side (even then I find that's often a touch too long on many screens once you factor in the header of the browser and the start bar along the bottom of the screen).
Horizontally you've got a bit more room to play with, perhaps up to 1500ish.

Again its hard to give actual values since my screen is at the smaller end of the scale and some people have 3 screens and very high resolutions.

My personal preference is in a row. I find columns of miniature images super obnoxious usually.
