Howdy to everyone interested. . .

It appears that there are some requests about RPing in thsi very section; it is unclear if they are referred to the old "First Edition" version by Black Library / Fantasy Flight (of whom I own quite A LOT of Manuals) or some other kind of System. . .

The newest incarnation of the "Official" WH40KRPG is starting quite speedily with the new system now developed by "Cubicle7" of Ireland (after they acquired-revised the previous Rule-Iterations from "Ulysses Spiel America" that, apparently, did not meet at all the criteria by GW). . .

"Wrath & Glory" is this new system; the final Rule PDF is around from July, but now the phisical Book has even reached LGS around the world (even in foreign language versions; the Italian Version in my home country is particularly well done). . .

I would gladly Gamemaster this kind of RPG in the format more useful for the Forum Structure. . .

Rules are "Relatively" easy as RPG system "Basics" go (while extremely immersive and well done, the previous version of the 1° Edition has been described, sometimes as ungainly complex and cumbersome in very convoluted combat situations). . ..

What for Me is quite a winner is the fact that is a System designed to FLAWLESSLY integrate Player Characters of all Culture, Races, "Classes and "Archetypes; this with a special concentration on managing the "Power Level" in heavily mixed "Parties" like an Inquisition Acolytes Cell that is reinforced with one or two Astartes for very dangerous missions, or a Rogue Trader "Bodyguard Cadre" that comprehend all manners of Exotic Xenos. . .

I will gladly expand further this discussion with anyone interested. . . . .!!!

I've played Dark Heresy II and enjoyed it a lot, and although I've never seen Wrath & Glory in much detail some of the mechanics intrigue me, and the sheer diversity of player 'classes' is interesting in what can be done.

Very good, what interest You more in the option of trying this new 40.000 RPG. . .?

Something akin what You played in the previous edition of Datk Heresy. . .??

Or something else, radically and totally different???

I enjoy 40k and RPGs. That's pretty much the reason there.
My avatar is currently my favourite character I've played in an RPG. Although I've used her in two different campaigns neither has lasted long enough for her to get a proper look in

Well, let's give a try-out of this preferred Character of Yours in the "Wrath & Glory" system . .

At a first look, seems some sort of Underhive Ganger, maybe seconded to the Inquisition as "Alpha Acolyte"???

She's a ganger, using akimbo pistols. She's fast but squishy if she gets hit.
She's a bit of a psycho, but also very immature.
How she joined the party has always been a discussion with the GM, in one campaign she had been arrested by the arbites, and assisting the inquisitor was a condition of her release. In the other we weren't working for an inquisitor, she just joined a new crew to make her own wealth.

So, if I get the gist of it, the typical "Metallican Gunslinger" from Gunmetal City of Dark Heresy. . .

A "Gunslinger Girl Desperado" ambidextrous and specializing in firing hail of bullets from relatively primitive Solid Projectile Pistols. . .

Seems good for Me; another Player want to play some sort of "Deranged Crazy Underhive Psycho" (face painted like a Carnival Circus Clown) that use Shotgun-Styled Firearms and some sort of brutal, vicious Melee "Tool". . .

Surely we could try to create some sort of Narrative for the Game about a Gang of Underhive Criminals of some sort, into which making fitting other Players that will be interested to join later. . .

That sort of under-hive criminals campaign is exactly what one of her games was, although it dissolved after ~2 sessions unfortunately. It was a lot of fun though and I'd love to try again.

Excellent. . .

I think that we could fish for other 1-2, max 3 Players, but should not so much interested appear I have NO QUALMS about Gamemastering for JUST 2 good players. . .

After all the System is brand new even for Me. . .

I like smaller groups, otherwise you get smothered by other people.
3-4 is best imo, which also means people can share the load.

Will soon start to organize better all related stuff. . .

1 surefire other Player here on Dakka, and other potentially interested PM-Contacted . . .

An Underhive Gang Story will be easy to create and elaborate even for People not so expert of the system. . .

How do you want this session to run? I may be able to contact some friends.

Excellent if You have interestes friends. . .

My idea was to open a dedicated "Game Thread" here in the "Forum Games" Subforum of the Dakka Game. . .

The game is based on simple D6 Rolls with "Potential Exploding Dices", so I think will be easy to open Accounts on relaible, simple "Dice Roller Sites" to have the Results copypasted when needed. . .

What "Timezone Frame" of reference are You; the other Player hails from East U.S.A., but I'm in Europe "London Time" (as I'm in Northern Italy). . .??

I'm in the UK, so we're at least on the same time time zone.
US is a pig to deal with though.

Nope, just for "Quick Stuff"and Q&A time. . .

Forum Based Play-By-Post need to be addressed with a post just every 12-36 Hours, to not lag too much the Game. . .

Will soon start some more robust "Reference Frame" of the game that I intend to Gamemaster there. . .

Just to solve some "Mad Holiday" issues. . .

I have a friend that's interested in joining.
Like me he's played Dark Heresy but not Wrath & Glory before.

Your friend is more than welcome to join. . .

I believe that with 3 Players we could start our "Underhive Heist - Grand Theft Landspeeder" styled campaign. . .

Expert Players of W&G then I believe are quite rare, as last revised edition of the rules was released in August 2020. . .

Just let us know what you want us to do and when.

Trying to find other Players, but THREE is still a good starting number. . .

The "Mad Clown" (imagine an Underhive version of Overwatch's Junkrat), the Ambidextrous Gunslinger Babe and the third would be??

So my friend has been really busy and hadn't had a chance to think about a character yet, but he ahd a week off work next week and will have a go then.

Could you give us details on character creation we're doing, like what tier and such?

If you want more people, you could try posting an advert on Reddit or Facebook or other sites, potentially running the game through Discord or Roll20 instead. Which may be easier to do anyway
