I would say what tops that was the foam insert of the old metal blisters. Something about that smell was heavenly.

I... i mean yes, there is a smell. But it's not one that i'd ever say i enjoyed.

But i'm happy that other people do?

I’ve noticed that books from certain publishers have distinctive smells, besides old book smell. I wonder if some companies deliberately add scent to their product to create a sensory-emotional experience in customers that will stick in their memories and that can’t be recreate with a competitor’s product.

Its just the dopamine rush of a new product and associating the smell with the experience of opening it.
Its a funny coincidence I found this thread today. I Just got a couple backorder Mortal Realm magazines and Im pretty sure I sniffed the sprues after opening the plastic wrap now that I think of it.

Never really noticed a smell when opening a box of plastic miniatures.

The old metal miniatures used to have a slight smell when opening the booster pack, but that was probably the foam insert.

Remember not to wash my brush out in coffee cup today.

Testor's Plastic Glue.

A misspent youth having no idea what that stuff likely did to my brain cells.

Honestly I'm pretty sure my nose has been permanently damaged by what essentially amounts to solvent abuse.

...But would you say you picked the wrong week to quit sniffing it?

(I am easily amused when that toxic smell hits.)

Yeah.
I like the smell opening a new box. This hasn't changed over time.

Not so much the brand, but the smell of the glue coming in contact with certain kits for me. A few months ago when I was building an oooooooold (20+ years) Italeri truck for my uncle I got that same scent from my youth again. The moment that old plastic started to fuse together I knew I hit both nostalgia and a hazard to my lungs.
