A couple years ago i picked up some halloween figures at a dollar tree store, they were skeletal wolves that had sensors on them so they howled and their eyes lit up when they detected motion. Well, i came across them and just had an idea to make 40k terrain out of them. Here's what they look like.

The idea that just popped out of the warp into my brain was to say they were memorials to a IG unit from the planet Tindalos called the 'Emperor's Hounds" and are knows as 'the hounds of tindalos.".

I was thinking of putting both on one fake stone base facing each other. I'm thinking of making them look like dark stone carvings so it's an easy paintjob. Dark base, big drydrush, done.

I might put a chain around the necks with maybe a little imperial eagle on them if I can get a couple cheap to cover the sensor.

The inner legs are cheap looking, i might just put some putty in them or not bother. Cheap terrain after all. Might do the eyes in red.

Instead of facing each other i might have them side by side some 6" apart to represent them guarding an entrance, and suggestions?

I would do side by side. I would do the base a darker gray and the hounds a lighter gray. It will be a great and unique terrain piece. Post a picture when your done.

Ok I had another idea here, I want to see if i can fing a gate miniature about 4-5" high to put behind/between them to make it look like they were guarding the gate to the city.

Obviously 28mm scale gats won't work. Looking for something else.

Are they lean and athirst?

Did you see the pic?

They're also fairly angular.

I want to get something to cover up the IR sensor, like maybe skulls or aquillas, on chains around the necks.
