If I have a 10 man deathwing terminators squad with 2 TH SS guys and 2 assault cannon guys, can I use the combat squad ability to split the combat guys into their own squad and have one 5 man squad with 2 assault cannons to use the "deep strike and shoot" stratagem for cheaper. Does the "one heavy weapon per 5 guys" rule still apply?

When you combat squad the unit, you can split the models as you wish, so long as each sub-squad has 5 models in it. You can put both heavy weapons in one of the combat squads, no problem. The "One heavy weapon per 5 models" is for the unit as a whole during list building, while Combat Squads applies during deployment.

Dark Angels in 9th Edition do not have access to the 8th Edition Codex stratagems. You can use the ones in the 9th Ed Codex Space Marines and the 9th Ed Dark Angels Index, neither of which have the old Deathwing Assault stratagem.

We'll see what the Codex brings later this year.

That's a good catch, I hadn't picked up on that.

Dark Angels now use the Stratagems found in the SM codex, not the DA codex. You need to use the SM codex and DA Index for DA until the DA codex supplement is released, then you'll use the SM Codex and the DA Codex Supplement.

The original answer for the original question still stands though, you can combat squad however you like.
