Fireforge games posted on their Facebook page that a new Kickstarter will be launched soon for the dwarf faction of their forgotten world line, there is an existing page her for that, but it was mostly dedicated to their northmen and is pretty old.,

The dwarves were a stretch goal during their northmen Kickstarter but were not reached, they originally planned on 2 kits, 1 infantry and 1 mounted, but not sure if anything will be added in their own Kickstarter.

Here is the original concept picture of the dwarves from their first Kickstarter, and a pic they just posted today of the dwarf cav wip.

Nice. I spent quite a bit on Peasants both living and dead in their first KS, and got a few undead army samplers, and was quite happy with the quality.

That first concept is glorious. Not too sold on the follow up images though, We'll see how this goes

I agree for the most part. i really llke the first render. The WIP of the dwarf with the crossbow, i think is a little too large, but I can live with that. Foreforge confirmed on facebook, that the kit will have crossbows and Arquebuses available. The infantry will likely have 12 troops per box, like the northmen did. The Cavalry will likely be 6 to a box. I like the cavalry wip. I am thinking of doing a little people themed army, with fireforge dwarves and Wargames atlantic halflings. I am not usually a dwarf guy, but i like these.

We'll find out soon enough eh.

As always the sculpts are technically excellent, but these won't be for me since I'm not a big fan of fantasy Dwarfs models I can picture angrily posturing every time a tall person walks past them at the local pub

I need to acquire plastic Skavenslaves, can you help?
I have a blog now, evidently. Featuring the Alternative Mordheim Model Megalist.

"Your society's broken, so who should we blame? Should we blame the rich, powerful people who caused it? No, lets blame the people with no power and no money and those immigrants who don't even have the vote. Yea, it must be their fething fault." - Iain M Banks

"The language of modern British politics is meant to sound benign. But words do not mean what they seem to mean. 'Reform' actually means 'cut' or 'end'. 'Flexibility' really means 'exploit'. 'Prudence' really means 'don't invest'. And 'efficient'? That means whatever you want it to mean, usually 'cut'. All really mean 'keep wages low for the masses, taxes low for the rich, profits high for the corporations, and accept the decline in public services and amenities this will cause'." - Robin McAlpine from Common Weal

I think they fit nicely in with the human figures. They just look...too human, almost like a chubby short friend than a separate race.

the Forgotten Worlds plastics are fantastic, painted up both sides for Saga Age of Magic. Very much looking forward to this KS too!

This is how I feel, too. They look far too similar to the humans from the last KS.

Got the Forgotten World undead miniatures from the first Kickstarter, and they're indeed good value as quality / price comparison.

I'll watch the KS and see what they will propose. I guess there will be specific bodies / arms / heads for the female dwarves, like for the zombie / living peasants.

I don't think they are bad mind you. I like the idea that they have the same quilting of the padded armor and same style really. It makes it feel as though they are meant for Oathmark where different races come from the same region and can fight under the same banner. A racially mixed culture in a fantasy setting....who would have thunk it

Sure, it’s nice they fit, but they’re not exactly charming my wallet out. It would help if there was something more distinctive to them.

I like them. I like that they have the same sorta realistic style as the other stuff. The heads definitely need to be larger though.

That's a good shout; I did think they were a bit too similar to the humans, but stylistically that does make them a nice pick for a society where the two live alongside each other.

Also agreeing that larger heads and perhaps slightly shorter legs would improve them a lot; they're just not quite visually distinctive enough as actual dwarves.

I think a problem I have is that I see dwarves as having these fat fingers and big hands which is in juxtaposition to their ability to craft fine elements of jewelry. This can't be seen in miniature as humans wind up being ham fisted because of the size of spear shafts, bows and sword handles needed to make them durable, so the size isn't noticed in the two different species.

I really liked the northmen and the villagers from ks 1. I wish that Fireforge was a little quicker on getting out follow up sets. If they had the speed that Wargames Atlantic had, then they would probably represent all of my hobby spending.

The Dwarves i think fit well with the Northmen, which is a bonus for me. I am sort of building an Empire type army with the Northmen... so I wanted hand gunners. The Dwarves should fit that role nicely. I like the Ram mounts.

They'd work great for Oathmark, which is about mixed race kingdoms.

They're meant for a generic fantasy setting, rams are more suited for that.

motor bikes may have been off since this is supposed to be fantasy... The original kickstarter being a Game of Thrones type setting. Though mechanical steeds may have been cool. I actually like the rams though. Especially the female dwarf one pictured. Ram looks ready to head butt and cause some damage.

I asked on Facebook if there will be female heads with helmets too. Fireforge advised there will be.

Whatever happened with the 'not Lannister models'? They looked so dope but I've never seen them after the KS.

When asked on Facebook, they say that they are still planned but not soon. They want to get some of their other factions out first. The Orcs being worked on now and probably the next after Dwarves, They also showed some WIP stuff... well concept stuff really, for elves.

People seem mixed on the not lannisters. With some asking for them and saying they will but a ton, and others saying that another human faction is not needed and there are plenty of human soldiers in plastic available. So they are probably looking to do stuff they think will sell better?

Personally I really liked the not lannisters and would definitely buy a bunch.
