I am re-asembeling my old space wolves army. And I am just wondering if blood claws are that good over grey hunters?

Currently I am gluing together 2 units of 10, both going in a rhino. A grey hunter is only 1 points more then a blood claw if I give him a chainsword. But I loose out on rapid fire weapons. And I can only take one special weapon. It seems like that is a lot to give up for 10 point discount and one ekstra attack per unit. But only when I manage to charge.

Blood claws seems good if you take them in smaller units, like say 5.

What do you think?

Vigo. Spain.

I would compare blood claws with assault intercessors and they don't win.

But they aren't a bad unit. I can see blood claws as 5 man units to work as the bodyguards or a double frostclaw wolf guard for example. But I would use Grey Hunters unless I was using lukas for that.

Dakka does have White Knights and is also rather infamous for it's Black Knights. A new edition brings out the passionate and not all of them are good at expressing themselves in written form. There have been plenty of hysterical responses from both sides so far. So we descend into pointless bickering with neither side listening to each other. So posting here becomes more masturbation than conversation.

Blood claws do have the same number of attacks on the charge as assault intercessors. And they can ride rhino. So it is not all doom and gloom.

I would say grey hunters compare greatly to intersessors though.

I like GH as a unit of 5 with a plasma gun, plasma pistol, powerfist, and an additional WGPL with a combi-plasma as a little bomb that can fit into a Razorback.
Blood Claws now having BS 3+ makes them a lot more attractive than they used to, now giving them a plasma or melta isn't a complete waste of points.

Thanks for the imputt. How do you feel about using a combi melta instead of a combi plasma on the WGPL? I think overcharging the plasma on him is very dangerus, but then I am grabbing a powerfist on him.

How do you run the razorbacks? Lascannon, heavy bolter or something else? I am also not so sold on the plasma pistol. But I gues in a marine heavy meta it is very good.

Honestly, I haven't too many chances to try them out one way or another, I just like plasma! Really I guess it depends on your meta, but I find plasma to be that jack-of-all-trades that has a use against 90% of stuff out there. Also there's no obligation to overcharge if the situation doesn't warrant it, so no danger if you don't fancy frying yourself.
Razorback I'd run with lascannons. I've also got a list with a couple of drop pods each carrying 9x GH + WGPL, with max plasma on anyone who can take it, and chainswords ofc. Aim would be to drop them onto midfield objectives, fire 7 plasma shots into the closest thing, then dare my opponent to take it off me.
