So that is why the few available news about new edition led to the name Marcin Malinowski. His other (failed) KS: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/elfenixgames/mortron-collectible-card-game?ref=discovery&term=marcin%20malinowski

Thanks for mentioning it. Sounds interesting. I like the original game, a good rule set, cool models and nice artwork by Adrian Smith. I still have the old rulebook and will watch this, especially for the models.

A Greek, a German and two Poles walk into a thread.

Must be a Target Games IP revival attempt.

Haha, make that another Pole (living in Germany) in this thread. Didn't watch the show but they put up some pics of new minis and cards in this rather annoying 3D online gallery https://artspaces.kunstmatrix.com/de/exhibition/4699261/chronopia . Dunno, looks solid but somehow Warzone seemed to be the more distinct Target IP to me, Chronopia has nice designs but has been really out-pauldroned by WarmaHordes by now? (can't say anything bout the rules though)

Yeah, this gallery is rather annoying to navigate. Thanks for the link As to renders, color me unimpressed. Old minis, why ugly sometimes, had more life than these new ones.

Those Blackbloods are okayish, but suffer from ZBrush syndrome - someone knows how to sculpt in general, but has little idea on how to effectively translate a 2d concept into a 32mm miniature that has to look good on the table.

Whoa!

I am very interested, the Blackblood swordsmen look a little flat (and overly detailed), the alchemist looks well designed, but again I think the details will not scale well. I do like the mandolin.

I hope the swirls on the skirts get removed.

They completely redesigned the Assault Warrior, I am impressed the art style is the same.

I am really not sure about this, they are staying true to the art but the original mins were mostly simplified versions of the art. I think I would prefer thick details and something along the lines of 40Ks space marine level of detail vs big surfaces.

If the Orcs are standing on 30mm bases, then they have upped the scale too, but kept the (terrible IMO) Chronopia tradition of making the minis hang off the bases (even though I loved it at the time).

I wonder how they will approach Firsborn?

That video is nigh on unwatchable, which is unfortunate as I was quite hopeful for some new Chronopia stuff, as I always liked the original game, particularly the Stygian.
I hope they up their game from here on in.

That is an annoying site. Wasn't impressed by the elf render, but wasn't a fan of the crystal knights much in the first place.

Surprised they're leading with Blackbloods.

I will keep watching for Stygians and some of the cooler Firstborn stuff like Repulsar Knights, Chronomancers, and the Judge.
I wonder if they'll dig into some of the more esoteric Devout stuff that was super hard to find (or not even produced).

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

I just hope they make Stygian Warriors low to the ground like Termagants/hormagants and keep close to the original design.

Thanks for posting images. My opinion about the models stays. Maybe later they will show something that will be more encouraging.

Prodos' early designs also suffered from being overtly digital, but they did produce some good models later on, like the Atilla or redesigned Razides. Hopefully, this survives long enough to see an improvement in sculpting quality as well.

Really? To me it looks like animal cruelty in miniature form.

What happened to that poor creature that it looks like THAT?

Well, he clearly has plenty of enthusiasm.

The project's doomed, isn't it?

The Uhrwerk Verlag who's also behind this is publishing pen-and-paper RPGs for the German language market, including some larger or classic IPs like Achtung! Cthulhu, Mutant: Year Zero or Space: 1889. They have declared bankruptcy in 2019 but seem pretty active right now after restructuring their business. So I guess they do have substantial experience in handling 'retro' IPs, but reviving an rather extensive wargame more or less from scratch still feels like a rather bold move?

Preview site sucks ass. Pictures are dark and don't show anything well.

Figures all just seem like they are direct translations of existing sculpts. Not sure I'm a fan.

Love Chronopia and hope to see it resurface at some point. Not real confident that this is it...

Welcome.

It is my first post in this forum so I have to introduce myself.
My name is Marcin Malinowski aka Martin Hood and I am working for German company Uhrwerk Verlag.
We will be releasing a new edition of Chronopia. Last Saturday at the virtual convention Heinzcon officially we told the world that Chronopia is coming back.
We not only told that (as we could just make an interview without showing nothing), but we demonstrated how the new edition will work and showed few of our first sculpts and as well painted miniatures. Yes we know, they haven't been pro painted.
Here you can watch Chronopia Teaser:
youtube.com/watch?v=fFqVu3Oah3A
and if anyone missed the show and wish to watch, here is the link:
youtube.com/watch?v=knj85OpFABE&t=1757s
I can assure you that our team counts more than a few people and they are from around the globe. ( I have noticed that someone used the word "Poles" which is considered offensive, so I would ask politely to change it to 'Polish'). Not to mention one of artist Ben Maier (working for Wizards of the Coast doing Magic the Gathering illustrations) who drew new cover for a book live on his Twitch.

About the sculpts - The models are done by 2 seperate studios. 1 that is making only Blackbloods and we have to correct each step and probably a lot more work in front of us and the 2nd profesional studio which makes the rest of the factions.
I really would like to thank you guys for critics and opinions. They give us strength to work harder and bring back this awesome system that was dead for more than 20 years. Not only that. Chronopia will have a few modes that not many wargames might say they have it:
1) Players (Even odd number) vs Environment
2) Solo Play
3) Battle Royale
4) and last but not least Player vs Player with 4 sizes of a battle:
a) Hero Skirmish (4-6 miniatures per side)
b) Patrol Level (More less 20 Miniatures per side)
c) Battle Level (More less 40-50 Miniatures per side)
d) Grand Army Level (The more the better miniatures per side [Let's say 100ish])

Still a lot of work in front of us. Kickstarter is planned at the end of the year so 7-8 months from now. We were working our ar**s off to be able to show you anything on that convention, and not just to say: "Hey, there will be Chronopia back!",  so be patient. More good staff are coming soon

If anybody would like to talk to the team, please find our official group on Facebook (simply called: Chronopia) or at our Discord Channel:
discord.gg/T83sX9uV

PS. I am not ashamed of my private Kickstarters from years back, when I was doing them alone and gaining experience (Last two were successful and still you can buy King's Arthur Vortex Chess on Gamefund or Ebay: ebay.us/v4PwLy )  but for example: this is like somebody telling you that the Blizzard's Diablo IV won't be good because one of their employers done only one video game before joined the team.

Stay a while and listen to the last words of The One King.

I never played Chronopia, but I've been intrigued by the Stygian models since I first saw them. Are we going to see some new sculpts of them soon?

Solo mode is a very positive aspect in a covid era. I will remain sceptical untill I see more. I will not support the KS simply because I am out of KS for good but I wish you a success this time As to ''Poles'' being a sensitive word then personally as a ''Pole'' myself I do not care. Also bear in mind that it was used here by the very ''Poles'' themselves so I would recommend more loose approach

I don't think anyone here made fun of the creators based on previous KS attempts, nor is being enthusiastic about an IP shameful in any way. It's just that enthusiasm alone has historically served Target Games' IPs rather poorly.

And in what world is 'Pole' an offensive term for a person of Polish ethnicity and/or Polish citizen?

Stygia is coming, but in our time line they are still asleep. We are starting the story of the world from 1st edition of the main rule book and in that time The One King do not even dreamt about them, but he has plans to prepare a journey to find some artefact dig in a Stygian desert, from what I heard

Stay a while and listen to the last words of The One King.
