So Fall of Biel-Tan makes it sound like Biel-Tan is going to get the Cadia treatment, but it kind of doesn't. And the eldar codex that came out after that even doesn't seem to indicate that Biel-Tan's culture has majorly changed since those events. But that seems off, right? If Biel-Tan is still sort of on its feet, how has it changed since Yvraine's visit? Are they going the Iyanden route as a way of compensating for their lack of living and the damage done to their infinity circuit? What are the results of gutting the millitary efficacy of a culture that defines itself by its ability to manifest change through that same millitary efficacy? Keep in mind that apparently a fair few guys opted to ride off with the Ynnari when they left.

Also, how does a craftworld change when the ynnari swing bye to do one of their recruitment drives? The Ghost Warrior novel makes it seem like Iyanden is extremely reluctant to see a chunk of their population go with the ynnari, but that could have more to do with their already-small population. Iybraesil sent a bunch of banshees to basically get Jain Zar to stop supporting the Ynnari. Ulthwe was pretty down on Eldrad, a noted Ynnari-supporter, but they've apparently mellowed out towards him since he showed up to save Ulthwe. So what are the rammifications of that?

ATTENTION
. Psychic tests are unfluffy. Your longing for AV is understandable but misguided. Your chapter doesn't need a separate codex. Doctrines should go away. Being a "troop" means nothing. This has been a cranky service announcement. You may now resume your regularly scheduled arguing.

Wait 10 years and GW might be bothered to write something about it.

The Fracture of Biel-Tan made it clear that they expect the Craftworlds structure to recover after a hundred years or so but we've generally been shown absolutely nothing of how Ynnari is affecting any of the Aeldari factions. At this point we know so little that wild guessing is all that we can do.

We'll probably see the effects of the Ynarri in this edition. I think GW went overly ambitious adding all the big names like Cawl, the Ynarri, and Guilliman while also adding the loss of Cadia, the Great Rift, and now the resurgence of the Necrons. They clearly had plans but had to shelve them when too many threads got pulled on at once. I think what they tried to hastily say is that it isn't a case of Craftworlds or major DE kabals/cults/covens joining the Ynarri but framed it as more of a personal preference for an individual leader and put big names on both sides to keep the balance i.e. Lelith, Eldard and the Phoenix Lords vs Vect, Rakarth, and presumably a lot of Biel-Tan due to the aforementioned fracturing and stealing of souls.
Of course in game terms, Biel-Tan can't change or the Eldar lose one of their sub-factions.

A lot of your questions come from poor writing on GW's part. They introduced this new faction of Eldar as a major player, only to turn them into a plot device where they've really not made much of an impact past reviving Girlyman.

Plenty of Craftworlds hate them for the death cult they are, we have no idea what their space faring ships look like, we know nothing of their culture and their characters have a built in revival mechanism you see in Call of Duty.

Gert sums up what I expect they're going to do, fight the necrons on the side of the Imperium. Personally, I'd like them dulled down a bit, the galaxy is a big place, they don't need to be everywhere.

Biel-Tan, wasn't destroyed, it was fractured. Instead of one big ship, it's a splintered array of ships now. This is made mention of in some of the lore and novels.

The hemonculi hate the ynnari, as they threaten their place in the dark city for keeping souls safe. But, all other aeldari thoughts towards the ynnari differ on a individual base. Some think they are savours, others think they are no better than slaanesh. Others are indifferent.

The ynnari have two strategies to accomplish their goal, and one has been made impossible by slaanesh acquiring the last crone sword they seek.

Apart from their introduction making the end of 7th a hellscape at my local club (we had 2 craftworlds players, 1 DE, and 1 harlequins out of a group of maybe 8), I really liked the idea of an Eldar faction that was proactive rather than reactive. The DE are aggressive sure but only to keep the status quo in Commoragh. The Ynarri actively seeking to save their race was a cool idea that got kneecapped by other big events.

GW couldn't even be bothered to mention material from the two Ynnari novels when they got their background/update in White Dwarf.

On the plus side, it isn't only Biel-Tan which is ignored - that massive Imperial invasion of Aliatoc which almost resulted in its destruction... had no lasting effects and was never mentioned again. Yippie! Narrative well and truly forged.

The principal reason why their fluff is as stagnant as their model line is that GW can't be arsed. Neither need a macguffin, just some impetus and interest from GW.

Death to the Ynnari.

How about no....

They're either the salvation or damnation of the Aeldari, which is a very interesting angle to view the CW, DE, & Harlis.

There are ynarri specific heads in the new banshee sprue, so I'm not writing them out just yet.
