Whether you have grand ranks of skeletons ready to charge into the enemy or a handful of skeletons or bones sitting on a throne to a khorne daemon, I want to see them!

Show us your calcium-rich organic shapes!

I'm looking for inspiration for a future Soulblight project, so I'm interested in seeing lots of different ways that people paint their skeletons!

The three Ossiarch models I've painted.

If I decide to continue with the army, I'll not do the face masks. I tried to go for simple Bone, simple metallic, and then a Peking Opera style mask, but looking into Peking Opera more, if I were to do it justice, I'd need to do the whole decorative armor, cloth, etc. Which requires a lot of freehand, which I currently don't do well.

But for now, there's just these three on my shelf.

Bone was done by zenithal Wraithbone over Zandri Dust, wash with Sepia, and layer Wraithbone and then tiny bright Highlight of white scar.

I've recently started painting bone differently, layering up as in the picture and not using any washes.

Reaper bone triad over iirc red beige

Don't recall how I did the helmets, I think with the two darker reaper bone paints and a army painter mid brown wash:

Reaper triad over pink for the base and iraqi sand for the armor:

Here are some of my ossiarch bonereapers, more pictures in my gallery.

The bone is grey seer, washed with Skeleton Horde, and then a dry brush of grey seer. I painted blood for the blood God in the cracks between the bones. Nice, quick and easy.

Not many, but a really quick paintjob (zenithal airbrush and wash and a quick drybrush). Nowadays I'd splosh some contrast on there rather than the wash and probably not bother with the zenithal as it didn't do much for the job anyway.

I painted these two years ago in a brass and white color scheme. Pretty classic drybrushing approach with extra layering on the cloth bits and a good bit of weathering for that extra bit of color.

Here's my most recent effort. Was testing out my resin printer a couple of weeks ago using a model I was familiar with. Love the oldhammer feel of these guys..

Not strictly skeletons, but some elements overlap:

The most recent actual skeletons painted:

(Honestly, if I were to do more I’d go with a brown wash to match the hexwraith’s steeds then the black ink.)

Some old guys
