I recently removed from paint from some old models using superclean and most models turned out fine, however a few of my old metal Cadians have developed this weird thin chalky layer on the model. The layer cant be removed from scrubbing with toothbrush but i can rub it off with a hobby knife. Does anyone have any experience with what this is and how to remove it? Thanks

From my experience, that's a chemical reaction between the metal and either the primer or the cleaning solution you used (can't remember which).

I honestly wouldn't worry about it: I've stripped and repainted plenty of metal models; that chalky texture should go away when you spray your primer on it.

Metal models you can soak additionally with ‘turpenoid natural’ in a metal container, use a electric toothbrush and scrub, rinse in water and you’re done.
