Table Wargames War3. Advertises their War hammer stuff at 50% off. Seems way too good to be true. Suspect they are selling recasts. Anyone else know about them?

"All right, sweethearts, what are you waiting for? Breakfast in bed? Another glorious day in the Corps! A day in the Marine Corps is like a day on the farm. Every meal's a banquet! Every paycheck a fortune! Every formation a parade! I LOVE the Corps!" ---Sgt. Apone

"I say we take off, and nuke the site from orbit. It's the only way to be sure."-----Ripley

Nope, that's dodgy as all get out. They're either selling cheap recasts as original product, or (more likely given the fact that the website appears to have been put together in about 5 minutes) just taking money until they get shut down.

My friend bought some stuff from there before we were able to tell him that yup, that's a recast site.

We'll see if our instincts are right or if it's just a money vortex...

I'm on a podcast about (video) game design:

And I also stream tabletop painting/playing Mon&Thurs 8PM EST

And make YouTube videos for that sometimes!

Putting aside the legality issues, I wouldn't say it's even worth the "will I get it, will it be of reasonable quality" anxiety, even at 50% off, and even if you do get your stuff. Especially as there's nothing on there, that I can see, that isn't in production by GW at the moment anyway.

Although, they do some products that are currently done by GW in Finecast, so maybe these recasters might be better... /joke

Always check with whois
https://whois.domaintools.com/tablegames-war3.com

the website was created on March 21, 2021

Either recasting operation or dropshipping, selling at 50% GW retail but buying from a Chinese recaster at a fraction of that ...

If the second case, and there is a tracking, it will show the product being sent from China. And, don't trust the tracking, it is often fake.

Same happens with all types of goods. Clothes for instance, typically with a nice story combining a "locally-produced" vibe with some social charity-like activity (e.g. "10% of the price you pay will be given to XYZ humanitarian/social/health cause"). At best, you get something, low-quality, wrong size, wrong colour, ... that is just good for the trash. At worst, you get nothing ...

And you'll never get a refund directly from them. Best way is to contact your credit card company and start a claim for fraud.

The website is hosted in California. The 'business' is almost certainly elsewhere.

They ship out of a Cali address, too. It's definitely recast, probably produced in China, but the business' shipping is in Cali.
