After having a lot of success last year focusing heavy on one army, I've decided to try that again and see if I can achieve similar progress
Last year was a whole lot of Cygnar (and a lot of other stuff, if i'm totally honest, super productive year for painting)
This year the focus will be on Trollbloods, the 2nd oldest army I've collected, having started with them when they first released, paid for with plasma donation money cause i was in school and had limited funds

Ok then, with more rambling, the work from this year so far (with more to come hopefully)

Units and solos

Warbeasts

Warlocks

Big stuff

final note-fair selection of other trollblood in my gallery from previous years

managed some more trolls over the course of the last few evenings (the mounts being big old chunks of browns really helped)

Cool! That's a very interesting colour scheme; those are some angry looking Trollbloods!

Good stuff. I feel like the white background is not showing off your models to best effect. I would like to see them photographed against a dark background, I think that would help the colours and details pop a bit more in the photos.

hm....hadn't actually considered that, but i'll see if i can work something up for the next batch of pics

Even more trolls, and a darker background to see how that goes

painting so many trolls of different ages really brings home how much inconsistency there can be in the range when it comes to how they depict the stony growths on their skin, and the size of their hands

Nice. I do think the darker background is helping.

Nice job, interesting color scheme with the red skin.

Eastern Frontier Exploratores
224th Astra Legion (main army)
628th Praetorian Guard Cohort (wife's army)
827th Auxilia Cohort (ad mech fun)
825th Foderati Cohort (in the beginning army)
1212th Foederati Cohort - Jokaero (cause I like apes with guns)

I tried the studio blue skin years back, but with also painting up other armies with lots of blue, i wanted a change (might have also been influenced by painting blood angels around that time)

another unit complete

i like these models, but the sculpt repetition annoys me

the march of the trolls continues

Also, not sure how i ended up with a spare of this caster, but since i did, i figured it would work for rpg purposes, plus it was fun to go back to the blue skin look after so long doing red

turned out some warbeasts, since they seem to go a lot faster then infantry units

You've got a whole rainbow going on there...

Given how the studio paint jobs change up the troll colors depending on climate, i decided to do something similar, so the yellow warbeasts I've done would be the cold weather variety

As for the blue winter troll, it was one that's going into the rpg box instead of with the army, so i figured it would get the standard blue treatment

Should i find myself wanting a second winter troll for the army, i'd pick up the resculpt, which is i think a far better looking model

Did up some terrain to go with my trolls

after a short break of working on non-troll stuff or just not painting, i got back into the swing of things

Nice, I like the marble effect on those pillars.

And with this, i have hit 100% painted for my trollblood........so i guess the year of the trollblood only took half the year, now to figure out what the next project will be
