I know this sounds ridiculous, however whenever I try to do tiny text that is not meant to be read, it always comes out to blochy and it looks like a blob.
Any advice?

Use thin paint, a good brush with a fine tip, and wick off most of the paint before applying. I find when I get blobby results, it's almost always because I had too much paint on the brush. Sable brushes also seem to be better than synthetics at depositing just enough to trace a line without being all-or-nothing.

Another common workaround is to use a sharpie. Don't be afraid to venture outside paints.

I use an Edding 1800 profipen with a 0.1mm nib for my purity seal scribbles. Does more than enough to sell the effect of writing.

I almost exclusively use Sakura Pens for my scribble. There are numerous head sizes and you never really get any 'bleeding', like you get with permanent markers.

I also use these, the smallest nib they make.
I did back a kickstarter for a sheet of scribble transfers, but haven’t used them yet.

First attempt at scribbling using a 'fine-liner' I had kicking around. For a Librarian I'm trying to finish, just not enough time
I think you will like this method over a brush, but try to alternative between dots and little lines.
