So, I'm trying to sell some of my Privateer Press minis and move more into AoS, and to that end, I'm looking at buying a bunch of Clan Skryre Skaven models. How are they in the game at the moment? What are your thoughts on which models/units are the best to fill out a group? I have the Battletome, so I can reference abilities and costs, etc.

Thanks in advance!

Last I had checked, they were considered a strong army, a solid B+/A depending on how you build it, when compared to the S tier of Seraphon KO and Lumineth when it comes to competitive play. I've talked about it with my friends how they feel about my Skryre army, and they all pretty much say that it's both interesting and stressful to fight, often feeling like every little mistake they make get's punished hard.

I typically base my Clan Skryre lists around the following base of models, and it does quite well in my semi-competitive meta, where we play strong lists, but not really top tier for the most part.

1-2 Skryre Warlocks, bombadier or otherwise.

Warp Lightning Cannon

3 groups of 20 Clanrats (Battleline)

3 or 6 Stormfiends

Then, I'll fill out the rest with whatever I feel like playing for the day.

For example;

Grey Seer - General, Master of Magic
Warlock Engineer - Vigordust Injector
Warlock Engineer

Hell Pit Abomination

Warp Lightning Cannon
6 Warplock Jezzails

20 Clanrats
20 Clanrats
20 Clanrats

6 Stormfiends (2 ratling cannons, 2 plague wind launchers, 2 lightning fists i forget the name)

Warp Lightning Vortex Endless spell

I've got loads more extra things, to mix and match with, but that first part is the basic building block I use for most* of my Skryre focused forces.

The changes to Stormfiend squad sizes from 9 max, to 6 max was a bit of a nerf, but are very strong still. Lots of mortal wounds, and powerful shooting.

Usually, the main center of my army is a unit of 6 stormfiends, with two ratling guns, and two wind launchers. Then I have an arch warlock with Vigordust injectors, and the spell More-More-More Warpower, the Command Trait, which lets weapon teams re-roll 1's to hit, and the Soulscream Bridge.

Deploy the four units centre of the deployment zone. with the arch warlock within 6" of a Gnawhole. Cast more-more, and vigordust on the stormfiends, and then soulscream bridge. Send the arch warlock, ratling guns and stormfiends through the bridge, pop a warpstone spark for +1 damage and blow away your opponents heros and a bunch of models T1.

I usually run the Warpcog convocation battalion, just so I can try and get the first turn and get the jump on my opponent.

Skyre Acolytes are also very good, but are very expensive models to buy, and WarpLighting Cannons and Doomwheels are also fantastic. I generally just play pure Skyre, so I don't take anything else.

Thanks for the thoughts! These will help guide my purchases, assuming I can ever offload the PP stuff.

Thanks again!
