I'm thinking of doing touchups and further oil washes to my previously oil washed miniature, but thought it a good idea to ask for adive before doing it.

The mini has been left to dry for over a week.

Was just wondering what will happen to the existing oil washes if I apply more odourless thinner cleanup to the new washes.. Will the old, presumably dried oils also lift?

thanks

Oil paint indeed does not ever dry completely, in that if you apply thinner to it it will "reactivate". If you don't want to lift up previous oils, you should varnish it before applying another oil wash or do any cleanup with mineral spirits or other thinner.

They do dry in a layman's sense. If you've left them for a good few days you should be able to work over them, but any hard brushwork or excessive thinner will likely affect the previous layer. So apply a coat of varnish first if you're planning anything heavier than a light touch up.
