I ask this question mainly because I've got through the War for Badab again. It's probably one of my favorite stories in all of 40k, primarily because it contains such a large amount of chapters, forces, characters and a general shift in character for several of them.

My reasons for this is because I would like to see Huron get more closure to his own story, because for the most part. We know that he did go against the imperium on one specific issue, which was saving brothers from another chapter by hiding them within his own. While we know that his story is not necessarily cut and dry on any particular matter. As it was obvious that some force from within the imperium was actively working against him, even when he was still an extremely loyal ward of the imperium itself.

Not only that, the book is just awesome. If you haven't done so I seriously suggest that you do, and if you're a fan of the Lamenters then you'll come out with a severe amount of respect gained for them in the end.

Now in a sense, I'm already betraying my topic. It's not that I want redemption for Huron, but closure. He sacrificed so much and achieved so much for the imperium, and he was stomped up by the exact same boot. The most he could hope for is legitimate vindication on the matter, and (If you're listening GW) a new up to date model.

One has to wonder. Do the Tyranids consider drop-assault troops... fast food?

Technically, it's already happened, but I'd like to see them explain what was involved in Arhra's fall and "redemption" in becoming Drazhar. I have my own headcanon, but it would be neat to see fleshed out.

I could see Yvraine and the other ynnari falling to chaos if GW decides to go, "Teehee. Ynnead was Slaanesh all along." I'd hate that, but I could see them doing it.

Ahriman, despite being marked by Tzeentch, is sort of kind of still his own man. I could see him falling on the side of the "angels" if it fit his goals.

Lelith is kind of sort of getting a "redemption" by teaming up with the ynnari. Though we'll see if they remember that plot thread exists any time soon.

They left plenty of plot hooks that seemed to imply they might have a schism between old marines and primaris for a while, but they seem to have sense backed off on that quite a bit.

I feel like at least one BL author really wants Fulgrim to get a tragic semi-redemption at some point. Snakey boy is just so very sad about cutting off his bro's head.

ATTENTION
. Psychic tests are unfluffy. Your longing for AV is understandable but misguided. Your chapter doesn't need a separate codex. Doctrines should go away. Being a "troop" means nothing. This has been a cranky service announcement. You may now resume your regularly scheduled arguing.

No, because GW can't write a character arc for gak, and they wouldn't want to damage their brand by having a character change in a meaningful way.

Ahriman is something that I can see happening, because he's one of the more interesting characters to come out of the novels. He's lost nearly everything when he tried to save his brothers, and it's a wonder why Magnus has given him so much gak over the few times they've been on the same page since then.

Fulgrim on the other hand, I think they've pretty much screwed the pooch with him after he regained control. Being stuck made in both the figurative and literal essence of tortured humans for so long, should've put a few things in perspective. Then again, his legion was one of if not the most proud of all the others. So it's obvious that they have more ammo to work with in at least doing the character some justice.

I myself kind of want Russ to come walking out of the warp to take a hit from Magnus, hold his brother and tell him that he's sorry for everything, and that he forgives him...but as Hecaton wrote... GW has some issues in progressing their characters. Hell we're getting closer to 70 novels of the main run at this point and only 3 primarchs have made legitimate returns to the scene.

70 novels in the main run of what? 40k in general? Unless it's a specific series about a specific event (War of the Beast) or character (Uriel Ventris), 40k books aren't generally connected outside of timeline and potentially characters. Novels don't dictate what gets released in 40k, they are dictated by releases.
