Please help me with suggestions for a 500 and 750 pt Iron Warriors army list. Im putting a army together for a friend but I don't know much about the chaos lists. I usually play blood angels and guard, and still new to 9th. Not looking to win tourneys as we keep our games small. So far I have two rhinos and 2 5 man marines squads for him. What else should I get for him?

Two rhinos and two five man squads is what, 300 points already? 400?

You will want some sort of HQ leader, so a chaos lord, a terminator lord, a warpsmith, or a sorcerer, all good options.

For an "iron warrior-y" unit to go with the others, I suggest a squad of Havocs, some Obliterators, or a daemon engine like a Forgefiend.

Some quick list ideas for IW @750.... tweak loadouts to get to 750 on the nose.

Daemon Prince w/ wings
30 Cultists
5 CSM
3 Obliterators

Use strats to juice up oblits and use cultists as a bullet shield.

Jump pack chaos lord
5 CSM w/ heavy weapon
5 CSM w/ weavy weapon
5 raptors w/ plasma
5 terminators w/ combi-bolters
5 havocs w/ Las

Use chaos lord to buff whoever you want and use deep strike to strike where you want.

Daemon prince w/ wings
5 CSM
5 CSM
3x maulerfiend/helbrute/defiler/VC

Warptime your favorite monsters up the field.

You could make these lists work at 500 points, just drop the non-essentials. (1 oblit and CSM, havocs & raptors, 5 CSM and vehicle respectively).

At higher points you can buff the cultists with an apostle and sorcerer to get a 5++/5++ and form a shield for your oblits, which you can get to hit on 2+ w/ rerolls generating more thots on 6's with the Daemonsmith warlord trait.

Terminator sorcerer maybe?

Unfortunately it doesn't cost less, or I'd be making the suggestion of a defiler.

This is more or less chaos undivided, so there's plenty of room to play around here.
