Mostly fighting marines and I'm tired of not doing much damage with foot guard/mech infantry Couple of things I'm trying to think through with this list. It's kind of short on infantry/screening I think. No bullgryns built but I have 10 crusaders, debating about swapping something for them. Will have to be careful with the troops or the get mulched easy. Random scion drop reinforce somewhere at a critical point if needed. Idea is to have the TC order Executioners to re-roll ones, punishers follow to charge in and hose threats that get on or threaten the TCs and executioners. Any inspiration for something spicier?

Hello.
This is quite a strong list. I like it. There is some attention given to troops : decent numbers, radio vox for order efficiency, some plasma guns to actually do some damage here or there. However, I disagree on doubling the techpriest. They will not achieve much. For better efficiency, I would rather give a plasma gun on every line infantry squad. Bolters on sergeant are nice, but not very effective in practice. If you are short on points, priority should be given to plasma guns.


You make great use of Leman Russes. I would not say that the LRBT is very good, otherwise, Astra Militarum would be high in the tournaments rankings. It is, let's say, still quite good. The optimal loadouts are not exactly the same depending on the wether it is a tank commander or regular LRBT.

Here are a few things you can do to optimize the use of your Leman Russes.

You are not required to give a tank ace trait to the tank commander. In fact if "gunnery expert" is given to a regular LRBT, opponent's target priority will be less easy. Stacking the bonuses on one tank leads to an obvious target priority for the opponent, and will quickly put you in a bad position if this very tank is destroyed. I advise you to put gunnery expert on a regular punisher. Furthermore I don't think you need that many punishers. One should be enough : you have a good load of troops, and many heavy bolters.

The executioner is good, but it is better if it is a tank commander, that can order himself to reroll these on overcharged plasma.

Also, I advise you to take at least one demolisher. It is too good to pass. In fact, all three variants of the demolisher kit (/ punisher / executioner) are good, but with its current damage and low pricing, the demolisher is above the others.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm playing with putting most of the russes into a spearhead for the situational obsec. Agree with putting executioners on the Tcs. If I take off all the sponsons I think I can add another demolisher of I drop the priests. Has two fp manticores as well.

This would give me two tc executioners a tc and regular punisher, 3 regular demolishers. The punishers and squad plasma would have to take up the slack of the missing bolters, might have a challenge against a horde. One of the key ideas for the punnishers is they can charge in to save another russ if it gets tagged and hose the taggers, or otherwise screen the other guns.

I'll need another demolisher kit if I stick with the extra russ, bit win or not it might be fun to dish out some damage with this.
