How do!

A slightly misleading title, because I don’t necessarily want to focus on the sheer brutality of His Finest. Though those are pretty cool.

Instead, we’re often told in 40K Background that “one of X is the equal to 10 of Y”. And wondering just what that might look like.

Now of course in movies, we rarely see the protagonist actually fighting 10 people at the same time, because for Very Important Plot Reasons, the baddies never just sort of gank the hero. It is what it is, don’t question it.

The inspiration for this comes from this specific scene for the brilliant Ip Man

In which we see a double hard bastard take on 10 highly trained martial artists at once. Mostly through sheer skill.

Now replace Donnie Yen, but not his skills, with an Astartes. How incredibly messy would it be, and how quickly would that fight be over? Very and indeed very at of course the correct answer. Every punch caves in a face. Every kick causes kidneys to be pooped out at best.

Hopefully I’ve suitably set the stage.

Basically, pick an awesome fight or war scene, and transpose just the hero for an Astartes, armoured and armed or just in their underoos. And tell us what you think might happen.

The Drug factory scene from Robocop, insert whichever Necromunda gang likely to have such a thing

many, many dead gangers

And over in around 30 seconds, as the baddies either explode. Or poop themselves to death. Perhaps a couple doing both.

The dark elves invading the throne room in Thor 2 is probably the most 40k scene I've seen in a film.

Crazy elves with guns and vortex grenades, and the response is... swords.

Efficiency is the highest virtue.

Sauron from LOTR comes to mind. I walking tank that towers over of a mortal man. I always imagined space marines just wading into combat and crushing anything in arms reach. More of a lawnmower than true combat.

Not a movie, but there was that one scene in Power Rangers where a talking dog... thing takes on 100 enemies.

The icing on the cake was the counter at the bottom left counting down how many enemies remained. Not sure what about it, but it makes the scene kind of cool. Would be awesome seeing a space marine taking on a few hundred Tyranids or Orks, while a counter counts down the number of ‘nids still standing.

The shootout from Heat. Four Astartes would simply turn it into a counter assault.

South East London

For me it would be the "hammer" scene from OldBoy.....

Would have to be an unarmed, no power armoured Astartes breaking out of a prison... or something....

This is what I imagine what it looks like when most victims encounter a Space Marine in battle. Starting at 55 seconds.

I mean he's not in battle armor but I imagine Cap's not far removed from what a unarmored marine could do.

Opinions are not facts please don't confuse the two

Not sure why I didn’t think of it before…..

Robocop’s drugs bust in the first film. Granted Robo is far slower than any Astartes. But the whole “you’re shooting at me, and I don’t care, I’m barely even dented” thing is pretty much what Power Armour grants it’s wearer.

As is the targeting and trigger discipline we see.

So, The Punisher and Daredevil 'Corridor' scenes are kind of, well, the opposite.

But, this seems appropriate for the effort just with well, a lot less holding back.
