Hey all, so I'm wanting to get into Age of Sigmar and had an idea for a Cities of Sigmar army: One based off of china. I thought it would be a good and unique army I could bring to friendly games using the Cities of Sigmar rules. My main problem right now is that I cannot find any model lines which fit what I need, as most model lines for chinese dynasties are of quite low quality, or of a 15mm scale rather than 28mm. The only exception to this I've been able to find has been Watchful I Studio but they are out of stock of nearly all of their models, as well as missing a lot of units I would need to run a full Freeguild army. If anyone knows some good alternatives, that would be of great help, as I've spent roughly a week now searching the internet for something which fits what I need, and been unable to find anything.

Wargames Foundry might have some stuff:

I have some Minis from their Congo line. They are a bit slimmer gut almost as tall as GW 40k Guardsmen

Edit: also these, but I have not yet ordered from this company:

I'm not sure if it is just the images, but the faces seem to be of incredibly poor quality. It could also just be the paint jobs though?

While this is just a 3d mockup, the faces seem much better, alongside the details seeming of higher quality.

I can only say for Wargames Foundries Congo line that those have pretty expressive faces and at least I myself have always been content with them.
just to give some impression:

Sure, they are not perfect, but for "line soldiers" pretty good. I would expect their chinese dudes to be comparable.

@ castingroomminiatures: for those I cannot vouch as I never used them.

If the faces on the other site look better, go for it. It's definitly a great idea and I would love to see your progress if you do it.

Fair enough, though I will likely try for Watchful I Studios models, but am going to look into other stuidos to pick up some arms for swords and guns.

Wargames Atlantic has some upcoming plastic Chinese figures. They seem to have been previewed ages ago, if not sure when they will be available.

Just an update, I got my hands on some of the Watchful I Studios ones, and am very happy. My painting isn't the best, but I got some pics here.

Thanks a ton! I guess I just judge my minis too harshly then, since I'm comparing them to the ones on display in my local store, or ones I see posted online.

There will always be models that (for ones personal "eye") look better than what you can do yourself. But I think as long as you enjoy the painting and/or what came out of it, its fine.
Your minis look good, the paintjob is clean, you have a nice choice of colors, you did the bases...

If you like, you might experiment a bit with some shades, but that's down to personel taste.
Do you want to keep it historic chinese or would you consider dabbling a bit into japan?
Also you might find something interesting here:

but I'm not exactly sure of the scale.
