Trailer for the sequel to the 2018 film got dropped last night. Spoilers for the original 2018 film if you haven't seen it but still plan to.




I enjoyed the little reference to Halloween 3 in there.

As I pointed out on Facebook, I’m fairly certain the trailer by itself matches the body count of the first movie. I’m guessing most of Haddonfield will be dead by the end of this movie.

I think it looks terrific and I look forward to it.

Looks like the conceit is making Michael the hunted rather than the hunter, which is interesting.

Love a good JC movie but thought the original was rather awful, although certainly not through a lack of trying to appreciate it.

I’d say Halloween 1-3 were good, the rest up until Halloween 2018 were pretty bad.

Just to clarify - we are talking the original original from back in t'day, right? Not the one from a couple of years back which shares the name, despite being a sequel?

Actually, that could've been amusing - just keep calling the "official" sequels Halloween - no number, no subtitle, just "Halloween"...

No worries - with the comment from Manchu about rewatching in a few years, I was a little confused which was being discussed

It's actually refreshing to see a horror stabbing gore film where the victim characters appear to be taking a stand rather than running around mindless, screaming and dying. I mean I'm sure they'll end up doing all those things as well, but its the difference between everyone running away and some turning around to fight back (and more than the token character who does it and dies).

It isn't really new. Nightmare on Elm Street had The Last Girl actually plan out a whole trap and plan to fight Freddy.

That is also what happened in the film to which this movie is a direct sequel.

That is something that can not be recaptured as easily now.

Its worth bearing in mind that the 1970s also gave us The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Exorcist, The Omen, The Wickerman, Jaws, I spit on your grave and Magic.

All in all a great decade for horror.
