No news on when, but what can we expect?

I wouldn't be surprised if apart from a few useful secondaries it's pretty similar to now.

I'd love to see heretic Sacristans being able to repair knights mid-battle though. More psychic abilities would be nice too.

It's really a mystery. Usually the routine is to nerf the most egregious combo, and raising the power level for the rest of the army.

In the car of Knight, this approach is definitely trickier... So we'll see
I expect a revision of the secondaries as main change, possibly with some buffs in terms of firepower bit no changes in durability at all.

I can't condone a place where abusers and abused are threated the same: it's destined to doom, so there is no reason to participate in it.

Never played knights in 40K but a Chaos Armiger kit wouldn't go a miss.

Casual gaming, mostly solo-coop these days.

Some synergy with an SM army.
I' like to field an IK with two Armigers supplementing an SM with some Invictors.

Chaos knights . . . Hmmmm. I don't think there was any particular combo or build that was OP enough to tone down. And the base chassis and invuln seem to be about right to me durability wise (both wardog and questoris)

I think we'll see something more akin to weapon stat changes and special rules for objective holding and possibly interacting with terrain. Maybe some rules for integrating into other chaos armies. Really all of this goes for imperial knights as well

To be honest, as Quasistellar said, any changes in the codex probably will have equivalents for IK too...

Perhaps not any extra psychic abilities though.

I personally like to play mono-faction so an additional unit like a heretic Sacristan Crawler would be really nice. I don't hold out much hope though.

Gw has been removing t9 from the game

And when reaver battle titan doesn't sport one t9 knights makes little sense

They already are Toughness 9, or have the option to be as needed via their special rules. We might see that removed even, as it's quite the outlier right now.

As far as what to expect, at a guess I'd say much of the same as the last codex. I don't think there is anything that needs dramatic tuning in terms of the units themselves.

I'd think we'll see some concerted effort in and around the secondary missions to make Knights more viable given the way 9th plays. Possibly some thought around how an almost complete lack of Ob Sec affects Chaos Knights especially. (Loyalists too for that matter, though they are slightly better off in this regard).

I'd hope that we'd see the disparity between our versions and the loyalist versions of 'Rotate Ion shields' and the Relic/Warlord strats addressed.

I'd wish that both flavours of Knight army get some formal infantry support put in place, in some form or another. Crunch that makes a distinction between a Renegade Knight, and a Chaos Knight would be great. Further exploration of limited Psionics such as we've seen in the last Codex would also be great, if it were handled carefully.

I have been wondering the same. I love chaos knights, so im excited to see what they come up with.

I'm really hoping we got some rules where knights are obsec, and on their first profile they count as 5 models or 10 models, and as they degrade, the number of models they count as for obsec continue to go down too. That would be an awesome way to give them some scenario play (someone mentioned this in a conversation on here a while ago and i fell in love with the idea).

I’ve predicted this for every codex and I don’t think I’ve been wrong yet: they’re going to add more Transhuman.

I expect to see something like the Mega-Gargants have in AoS, where they can count as multiple models for the purposes of holding objectives.

Besides that, I can certainly see the Tyrant's weapons get a buff, the plasma will go to Damage 2 base. Probably lots of other weapon changes too.

I'd like to see them lean more into what makes a chaos knight a chaos knight. better and deeper associations with gods meaningfully impacting profile stats and abilities beyond window dressing. It just seems like knights with a coat of chaos paint and a trophy rack on it(to me). I was excited for the codex but after reading it i did not pick up models, maybe the new book will pull me in, love the models

Can we expect Endless Torment to be replaced with a flat number of shots for a lot of weapons?

It seems to be the way with 9th, but I'm not so sure in this case because it's only one of many bonds so most armies wouldn't have it anyway...

Knights are the biggest mystery for 9th. The mechanicus interactions in charadon might give some clues.

I would expect whatever the loyalists get - just a bit crappier.
