Subject: Which relic is better for keeping a Canoness alive? Mantle of Ophelia or Iron Surplice?
Currently I am doing a narrative campaign and I am planning on round 2 for my Order of Our Martyred Lady Canoness to go against a Greater Daemon. Offensive wise with the new codex and Charadon stuff I think I am fine Killy wise but not sure which of these is best for taking a hit.
Last time I basically took her as a buff character with the 2 damage monster pistol so I am hoping round 2 will go a little better. Especially because I’ll be upgrading the bolter Celestian bodyguard to the new ones.

Mantle of Ophelia. Each attack if it hits, wounds, and you fail the save, will only do 1 damage. Cannoness has five wounds, so that's your best bet. You don't say which kind of Greater Deamon, but I'd imagine it will hit on 2+, and wound on a 2+, with a greater then -1 AP, meaning you'll have to save on a 4++. Most of them have about five attacks, with each attack capable of up to six wounds in one shot. The Mantle of Ophelia will guarantee at least one round of combat survival if you fail all your 4++. The Iron Surplice does not.

Well he used all but the Lord of Change last time, but it was the Great Unclean one which got her once he had literally rolled over the Celestian squad.
I am guessing the Iron Surplace is better for hordes?
In theory I can get her to strength 9 with 3 damage and six attacks so I am hoping round 2 will go better. Plus I can get a plus one to wound if the demon kills another character. I mean last time it was just multi melta death and wanted to mix up the demon slaying.

Bloody Rose Canoness with Blessed Blade, Rapturous Blows, Mantle, and Righteous Rage is probably your best bet if you want something that might take that fight and have a shot at walking away.
