So I'm planning on running my IG army with quite a bit of armor and want it to stay alive as long as it can. I've seen some Guard players run a Tech-priest Engiseer in their army to do repairs, however its a Mechanicus unit. How does that work? Do I have to include a detachment of Mechanicus units to bring him?

There is a Techpriest Enginseer datasheet in the Astra Militarum codex.

cannot correlate their innate inferiority with their inevitable
defeat. It would seem that stupidity is as eternal as war.'

The Tech-priest Enginseer has the Astra Militarum keyword and can be included in Astra Militarum detachments thanks to the Advisors and Auxilla rule despite not have a Regiment keyword.

as others have answered, the enginseer has a datasheet in the IG list (35pts elite slot), seperate form the Enginseer in the AM list (55pts HQ slot), even though they share the same name and physical model.

To be a man in such times is to be one amongst untold billions. It is to live in the cruelest and most bloody regime imaginable. These are the tales of those times. Forget the power of technology and science, for so much has been forgotten, never to be relearned. Forget the promise of progress and understanding, for in the grim dark future there is only war. There is no peace amongst the stars, only an eternity of carnage and slaughter, and the laughter of thirsting gods.
