I haven’t generally liked GW’s recent nonstarter set marine characters, but I do think this model is pretty awesome.

Looks like a regular ol' Exalted Sorcerer.

The model doesn't do anything for me, but I'm not the target audience. 1ksons fans are. The interesting thing is they're getting TWO psychic disciplines. Wonder if each psyker will be limited to one or get both?

We already have two disciplines: Change and Dark Hereticus. Three if you include Discipline of Tzeentch for Magnus and Daemon Princes. While Aspiring Sorcerers are restricted to Change, characters can mix and match freely.

They are monogod but there are so many flavours of daemons and personalities etc that they can "tap into" which is how I understand this character fitting in, coercing daemons to do things without being summoned.

Beyond that, not sure what else they can add without going "lolz another sorcerer" or a bigger release.

Chuck Norris would awesome as a catachan.

I like the mini screamers but the pose looks like he is falling on his back. The head is also very bubble head proportioned.

But what are those purple tentacles in the background?

This model looks like a kid's Xbox 360 Avatar after his mom bought him the $50 Xbox live card at Walmart.

Tastes seem to differ, I like the model.

1) I like that model. Not love, but like. Unevolved screamers aside, that is a nice backpack vent system.

2) This reminds me I still need to get 1 more box of Scarab Terminators.

I'm typically not a fan of Swirly Gak(tm), but it seems to work with this guy. It's like he just summoned two baby Screamers and that's the last frame of animation before the Swirly Gak disappears from the screen.

He might benefit from a head swap, but it's not like there isn't plenty to choose from across the Thousand Sons model line.

The fluff reason is right in the text. All you have to do is to read the goddamn article.

That TS psyker use familiars is established fluff since the Horus Heresy. A Thousand Sons was realeased over ten years ago.
But I guess ,it is easier to bitch than to have a modicum of background knowledge.

There's some stuff they could add without breaking the Rubric, like the (long-wanted) psyker Helbrute, or dedicated Thousand Sons vehicles.

The part about expanding the "two" psychic disciplines gives me pause, though. Sons already have access to three disciplines. I hope this doesn't mean that they're locking the Sons out of Dark Hereticus.

As for the concept - he's basically meant to be like Ctesias from the Ahriman series, right? That's cool. Hope the rules do him justice.

He looks pretty tall. Were the TS done in the same upscale way that DG and CSM were?

And the fluff reason is pedantry upon the fact that conceptually that the pacts and summoning tendencially are far more prevalent themes in WB then TS. Long before that indeed.

Really like how they represent the screamer summoning on the miniature. From a certain angle, it works pretty well.

So monogod sorcerer summoning baby daemons of his god...well duh. he's not summoning khorne/slaanesh/nurgle stuff.

It's a shame that it's just another power armour sorcerer. I really thought GW'd mix it up and make this guy a Terminator.
