Yes a new model on FW!

Ok so its not actually new, its re-released though having been pulled from sale a while back and with no expectation that it would return (and indeed early emails which suggested it was 100% gone). Which by the ways of FW makes it almost as good as brand new! Go forth and show our consumer support in the return of a great sculpt

Does it?

Didn't think they still made those.

They might have replaced the rods and just copy-pasted the description. OR GW has put them back into limited production for FW; or just dug out a mountain of them that were stockpiled up and which they were just going to toss.

They might also have added some rod segments to the mould (they retooled the destroyer to do that and its easier for resin because the moulds wear out and are replaced more often).

The pylon now comes with a resin version of the old green crystal, so I doubt the rods are still green

Oh, I didn't know that.

Well nice to see them adapting.

I wish this model and the sentinel were brought over to the main range in plastic. Also I think the one I bought pre-built on ebay 3 years ago may be a recast as the rods are not the same

I remember this thing being an utter nightmare to build.

The Canoptek Tomb Stalker has rules in the Imperial Armour Compendium, so it makes sense they'd start producing it again. I'd expect any other units that have rules in the Compendium but no currently produced model to eventually get the same treatment.

Not so much a nightmare as requiring a lot of pre-planning and taking your time. I've assembled 3 of the centipedes and they weren't bad, just time consuming. I knew what I wanted the poses of each to do before hand and took the time to check each step to make sure it went as I wanted. Lots of parts, though.

I truly cannot imagine how brutal this model would be to build given FW's QA standard. Small to large mold slips for days. I can only imagine how much of it you'd have to get replaced 1+ times. Fun!

I've got one of the others of this type and there's no mould slipping - perfectly fine model (I've just not faced putting it together yet)
