So I just watched Blood Red Sky which has, I believe, just been released on Netflix in the UK.
I enjoyed this. It is a German film, but with quite a lot of English dialogue. I watched the subtitled version as I hate dubbed versions so have no idea if the English dub version is any good.
Anyway, I kinda wish I hadn't watched the trailer for this, so if you can, I'd recommend you go in blind, although I have put some info behind a spoiler tag.
It's a film about a mother and her young son. The mother is, by all accounts, terminally ill, but a doctor in the US thinks he can save her.
So mother and son board a Transatlantic flight from Germany to the US to go for the life saving treatment. The mother needs to take regular meds and so has planed the trip meticulously.
Unfortunately, terrorists seize the plane just after take off, deviate from its flight plan and start killing hostages.
Then there is a twist, which is probably very obvious, but if you want to know, and haven't seen the trailer:
Overall I thought this was pretty good, certainly very enjoyable. Possibly over long at 2 hours but worth a look if you a free evening.

Ooh, reading the spoiler made it more appealing.

I enjoyed it. It was a bit longer than it needed to be, but I thought it was pretty cool.
Got a ‘30 Days of Night’ vibe from the vampires. Wouldn’t mind a prequel about the vampire who spread the curse to the mom, though that wouldn’t have the gimmick that this movie had.

I appreciate the OP for the spoiler tags in there, but I probably should have stopped reading the thread there because then we have This guy…

On one hand, sorry if you think I spoiled the movie. I don't believe I did, but it is what it is.
On the other hand, the mom's condition seemed very obvious as OP stated and its the least of the twists in this 2 hour movie. None of which I posted.
Enjoy!

Yeah, to be fair, the "twist" was kinda blatant in the trailer so nothing spoilered too majorly. However, I think it would be a more interesting movie if yo didn't know that bit was coming.
