Yes it’s another poorly conceived thread with even more poorly defined parameters!
But, I’ll give it a decent go. Imagine you’re a Sci-Fi pilot, with the one-man craft* of your choice to fly. I want you to suggest a song which, for you** encapsulates that particular experience.
Brought to you by a criminally underrated and unresolved series, Space: Above and Beyond.
2:55 in.
In you’re one man craft, what’s your fighting music?
As for me? Rebel Alliance A-Wing. This song.
MORE FASTA!
*No “hurr durr one man capital ship nonsense, thank you.
**yes, you. Whatever you’re taste in music,

There are many good options. Sabaton is obvious. Minutes to Midnight has some possibilities. Andrew W.K. would be great, but requires a crew to get the most out of the party. Machinea Supremacy is always there. Powerman 5000 - Tonight the Stars Revolt: A solid and fitting choice.
But no. If there can only be on song to listen to while flying solo, it can only be this: John Digweed Presents Bedrock - Heaven Scent

It feels like cheating to pick a song from Ace Combat, but then again, its the perfect series for fighters, space age or otherwise.
Archange in particular is a slow build up to the more proper dramatic part, and if you listen closely part of the song actually has what sounds like a jet engine roaring in the transition.
"Through the darkness of future past, the magician longs to see.
One chants out between two worlds: Fire, walk with me." - Twin Peaks
"You listen to me. While I will admit to a certain cynicism, the fact is that I am a naysayer and hatchetman in the fight against violence. I pride myself in taking a punch and I'll gladly take another because I choose to live my life in the company of Gandhi and King. My concerns are global. I reject absolutely revenge, aggression, and retaliation. The foundation of such a method... is love. I love you Sheriff Truman." - Twin Peaks
To be fair, I could also go with Magic Carpet Ride ever since it was featured in Star Trek: First Contact.

I must stress my Dragonforce pick is exclusively for the A-Wing interceptor. As it’s the greatest fighter ever devised in reality or fantasy.
Stupid fast, stupidly well armed for its size, with shielding and shields? It’s the most fun you can have on your own. Every time you pilot one into battle, you’ve got the biggest [redacted by the Inquisition] in space that day. Except everyone else with the [redacted by the Inquisition] fortitude to follow suit.
They’re ace. You can even desperation stack it into a Super Star Destroyer’s bridge for what must be one of the greatest non-Force assisted single-handed kill ratios ever.

To be fair, if those Y-wing pilots hadn't taken out one of those mahoosive shield generators first (that SD had just lost shields), then that A-wing wouldn't have done diddly-squat except smear itself over the shields.
I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.
That is not dead which can eternal lie ...
... and yet, with strange aeons, even death may die.
One from the archives. I’ve even kind of know the bassist, who proves the old adage “never meet your heroes”.
But….let me set the scene. You’re part of a hyperdrive equipped squadron. You jump into the system, going dark and letting momentum carry you to your strike point, hopefully leaving your foe unawares. The target starts coming in sight, you begin to appreciate the scale of your task, but know you can do this.
S-Foils in attack position, chocks away and TALLY-HO! TIME TO TOSS THE PLACE! Faster and faster, more firepower. Make a glorious mess, win or lose. Beat the attrition odds. You might not be particular uniform in ships, kits or decals. You’re there with a burning purpose.
At first, your surprise attack has the advantage. But time and numbers are not on your side.
Doesn’t matter. Sheer testicular fortitude can and will carry the day. Sure, you’re outnumbered 10-1. But you’ve 15 times their combat flight experience.
By calling on every ounce of your skill, every dirty trick you’ve ever learned, pushing your fighter to its absolute limit, and perhaps beyond? The day is yours, and another strategically vital outpost is left in ruins.
The butcher’s bill will be high that day - but you’re not the party picking up the tab.

When I was addictively playing Eve online (which is pretty much a full time job as a space ship pilot) I was listening to a lot of Huse/ Jazzy house music. Was mint.
