it varies on circumstance and who I'm talking to, if I'm talking about Mini's to a friend for example I might say "I snagged some retributor armor from the local Gee double U" if I'm say discussing something with a parent I'll proably say Games workshop such as "if you think my mini's are well painted dad you should swing by the Games Workshop store and look at whats on display there, makes me look like an amatur"

Opinions are not facts please don't confuse the two

"Warhams".

The local store has been rebranded to "Warhammer".

Honestly never heard "gee dubs". Games Workshop or GW are how I've spoken of and heard them mentioned. Or just "The Warhammer store" or such. In general for most people Games Workshop and Warhammer are interchangeable names.

Tyranids is ‘Tih-ruh-nidz’ (sorry, Robin). I get that there’s a strong argument for Tie-ran-ids, but Jes Goodwin says it the first way, and it’s his digestion pool we Tyranid players are getting our gribblies from in the first place.

Mine might be the most radically different. Slovenian pronunciation of G-W, which is like the g in get and the v in very

And when speaking "english" we usually say gee wee.

I might be missing that this is a joke but tyrannical and tyrant are not pronounced the same - tih-rannical and tie-rant. I always pronounced it Tih-ranids - that’s how it looked like it would sound and that’s what the London GW staff called them when I bought the 2nd Ed codex.

I've used all of "Gee Dubs", "Gee Dubya", "Gee Double-You", "Games Workshop", and "Warhammer" (when referring to the shop / game systems) pretty frequently, depending on who I'm talking to, the context, and maybe a couple of other minor factors I can't think of off the top of my head.

I’m honestly surprised there are more people who picked “Gee-Double-You” over “Gee-Dubs.” I use the former too, but it felt like the awkward middle ground between the “normal” name and the lingo term of the latter.

Tyr-a-nids.

And mostly GW. 'G Dubs' sounds like something out of a bad skate-rat movie from the 90s.
