Hi everyone,

Let's say i got 3 units of Battle Sister Squad, now all of them has the Shield of Faith ability right?

Now the ability has these rules :

- Models in this unit have a 6+ invulnerable save.
- In your opponent’s Psychic phase, this unit can attempt to deny one psychic power as if it were a PSYKER. Each time a Deny the Witch test is taken for this unit, roll one D6 instead of 2D6: if the result of that test was an unmodified result of 6, or if it was greater than the result of the Psychic test, that Deny the Witch test is passed

now for my questions :
1. does that mean each of my unit can attempt to Deny The Witch? or just 1?
now i know the core rule says only 1 attempt can be made to deny a psychic power, but does that mean 1 attempt per unit or 1 attempt for all my army?

2. does a roll of 6 means the deny always success? i mean if the enemy psyker made a psychic roll of 11, and i rolled a 6, does that mean the psychic power is denied? (rule 2)

thanks!

1. Each unit with Shield of Faith may attempt to Deny the Witch once each enemy Psychic phase.

2. A unmodified 6 on that Deny the Witch test successfully denies the psychic power regardless of the roll on the Psychic Test.

The UNIT gets to attempt to deny, regardless of the number of models.

Your army can only attempt to deny any individual psychic manifestation once, no matter what. If Ahriman tries to manifest smite in the enemy psychic phase then you have a maximum of one chance to deny it - if that fails then there is nothing further you can do to prevent that smite.

1. Each unit is able to attempt to deny the witch, however the rule that only one attempt to deny a psychic power per turn still applies.

From the core rules:
DENY THE WITCH
When a Psyker unit attempts to deny a psychic power, you must take
a Deny the Witch test for that unit by rolling 2D6. If the total is greater
than the result of the Psychic test, the Deny the Witch test is passed and
the psychic power is denied. Only one attempt can be made to deny
a psychic power. If a Psyker unit can attempt to deny more than one
psychic power in a psychic phase, this will be listed on its datasheet.

So if an attempt to deny a specific psychic power has been made by a psyker and failed by that psyker, you cannot subsequently attempt to deny that same power using Shield of Faith. Similarly, if a psychic power is cast which targets 2 (or more) battle sister squads, one squad may use Shield of Faith to attempt to deny that power, if that attempt is unsuccessful the second battle sister squad is not able to attempt to deny the power. Each battle sister squad is able to use Shield of Faith to attempt to deny each turn provided they are attempting to deny different psychic powers from one another.

2. Yes

Just to add on maybe you didn't get it all>

As said above, you may only attempt to deny a psychic power once. However, if you have 3 battle sister squads, and an opponent casts 3 psychic powers near them, each squad could attempt to deny one of those powers.

Sequence is cast one at a time of course. So say Ahriman smites a squad. that squad (or any other in range) can attempt a deny. Ahriman then casts another power. A different squad may attempt to deny that power (not the same one, as they may only attempt to deny one power a turn). So on if a third spell is cast, etc.

Keeping the hobby side alive!

I never forget the Dakka unit scale is binary: Units are either OP or Garbage.
