Is this right? I've a game coming up this weekend and wanted to get the new 'dex, but I can't have it unless I spend over £100 on a box set of models I have no way of knowing whether I like until I have the codex?

Alternatively I can give people £40+ on ebay for the book?

What the gak GW?!?

Correct. It was the same with SoB. I believe the new Codex is up for pre-order on Saturday if you just want the book and not the models.

It's a stupid idea that only seems to serve to annoy customers and I've no idea why GW persist with it other than the fact it must make them some extra money from people who need the Codex right now rather than being willing to wait.

Short term it probably makes them more money, but I have to wonder if it drives a lot of customers towards forbidden means to get a codex.

Since GW more than any other company I know seems to really rely on players in there ecosystem it seems like a huge driver towards jumping out of that.

It's up for preorder on Sunday, not long to wait if you wanted it individually.

It has been quite some time to wait, actually. The beast snagga box was released two months ago now.

I mean, this is complete bollocks – it was just over five weeks ago. By all means complain about / criticise the release model, but not sure just completely making stuff up is much use to anybody.
